Such a pity... they made the same mistake as with the Clio RS.
Why not offer a manual ?

EDIT: Did I hear this right ?
1080kg. kerb and around 300kg. lighter than the Cayman !?
DAMN!!!!

So you see that smart centre console bridge - y'know what that means don't you?

Yip - no chance of a manual. And that's a big shame given what this car is capable of delivering in terms of a purist's experience. It's a magical little thing.

When it comes to sports cars, I like some aggression in its design. But here's one of those exception. The cleanliness of the design is appealing and is only punctuated by the inboard head(fog?)lights that draws on it forebearer. The interior seems like nice place to be and another time where I'd make exception to having a tablet slapped on the dash.

Have they decided whether this car is US-bound?

Regarding the manual

Top Gear - Was a manual gearbox ever considered?

David Twohig (Chief Engineer Alpine) “I would be lying if I said no”, answers David. “It was considered early on in the project but we shelved it pretty quickly because okay, there’s a hardcore client out there who will always want a manual gearbox even though I can prove the dual-clutch is more efficient. But the percentage of those people is very, very small, and the business case is overwhelmingly for DCT transmissions. We’re very happy with the result and we think 95 per cent of our customers will be too.”

70K$ is indeed an insane price, no matter how iconic the original one is.

Pfft, I'd gladly drive around in one, but the price is ridiculous. It has grown on me the last few days, but it should be made more affordable. Or at that price, it should come with a V8.

:D
