Random Thoughts...

I think it's the opposite and refers to natural meat, which is why I think it's stupid.
Going from banning advertising to banning consumption is sometimes only a matter of years.

They love banning things over there, but marijuana is legal.
Exactly (y) This why I said it’s stupid.

The next step is always the banning of the consumption, un(fortunately) the human is an omnivore, you can eat meat or fish, or you can consume some tablets.

Your last sentence shows the hypocrisy. It’s mind-boggling

Therefore I am against any bans regarding advertisements.
The only exception I can make would be when they banned tobacco liveries in F1 and then everywhere else. I thought it was wrong at the time, but later I understood that for something so harmful it was the right thing to do. That, along with taxes, helped to lower consumption, although not by much.

BILD even wrote that the next step might be to forbid advertising for cruise travels, because of the dirty ships.

It is common knowledge that many cruise ships currently in service present a massive CO2 footprint. Ask folks who live in the German Baltic cruise terminal town of Warnemünde. Beautiful town-but the stench of heavy marine fuel can be overwhelming. Heavy marine fuels (aka "Bunker") are pretty nasty stuff. Fortunately, more cruise lines are converting to far cleaner LPG.

Yes there’s at least one famous example.

Menthol cigarettes, first they forbid the advertising and from 2020 they forbid the sales in the EU.

Lol, you say famous, I don't think I've seen anyone smoking menthols since the 80's... but that aside - and the fact that banning the sale of something isn't a ban on the consumption of it, you said 'always' like it's a common thing.... so what else?

I know there are certain animals that various countries ban, but I don't think (outside of drugs) things are commonly banned enough to classify the banning of advertising something leading to the banning of consumption as a pattern that always happens.

Is there anything legally stopping any of us right now from smoking a pack of cigars, eating a big ol' slice of cow that you picked up from the butchers in a combustion powered car, and downing a pint of whisky?

Things are being done to solve that; the largest shipping company here has just built something completely new that will inaugurate its voyages in February 2026.

"Buquebus's new 100% electric vessel, named "Zorrilla," has a capacity for 2,100 passengers and approximately 225 vehicles. This 130-meter-long ferry is the largest of its kind in the world, designed to cover the route between Colonia (Uruguay) and Buenos Aires (Argentina) with zero emissions."

Fun fact: Former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt was a notorious chain smoker up until his passing at age 96. His "poison of choice": Reyno-German brand menthol cigarettes.

These days that sounds like all the deadly sins in one night

Yes! I knew I was missing some.

It's the Daytona 24 this weekend, which is about has unhealthy a weekend as I get throughout the year. Alcohol, energy drinks, highly processed meat products, sleep deprivation, terrible posture, caffeine in excess, massive screen exposure...
