And 4m views/issue on Readly. That’s nuts for a German car magazine.

I've long cancelled my AMuS subscription and no longer frequently visit their website. What I do enjoy watching are the Alexander Bloch "Bloch Erklärt" videos and the occasional "MO/OVE" podcast, depending on the guest.

I'm about to do a very stupid thing. I'm about to buy a 2005 E53 X5 3.0d M Sport, in Kalahari Beige (ext) and Truffle Brown (int) colours. One owner from new, probably needs an engine. The chassis has a bit over 450.000 km.

The most important thing is that the wife didn't say flat no.
Eventually I dodged that bullet. The X5 has found a new owner, I found some peace, my wife didn't fine another oil leak with some car wrapped around it in the garage and everyone is happy.

On my last day of work at the start of the Christmas holidays while driving home, I always listen to Chris Rea's Driving Home for Christmas. I've been doing this for more than 20 years...

Yes, the song was first released almost 40 years ago. It was an immediate hit here in Germany and has remained an "evergreen". It is a song that accompanied me through joyous, tranquil times as well as times of great loss and sadness. I suppose that is the case with most people of my age. Perhaps a sort of time chronical for those of us who have been around for a while.

Lieber Jimmy,
your words really resonate with me. It seems that only with the passing of years do we begin to understand what life truly means – how joy and loss, lightness and sorrow, slowly weave together into something deeper than we could ever grasp when we were younger.

Some songs capture that journey in a way nothing else can, and Driving Home for Christmas is one of them – less a piece of music than a quiet companion through the seasons of life.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful reflection.
