Body styles: Two-door roadster (SL) R129, two-door coupé (SLC) C107. It was succeeded by the Mercedes-Benz R129 (SL), and the Mercedes-Benz C126 (coupé). Production: 1971-1989. Model years: SL 1971–1989, SLC 1972–1981.
Here are some fresh pics of BRUSER. You can see I repainted the grill, replaced the fog lights and just cleaned the car up over the winter. Since I took these shots I have also replaced the rubber with 225/50/16 Falken tires, and did a full service and inspection on the car. From what I seen this car is good to go with little maintenance required for many more years.

Bruser is a total badass.

I also spotted an SLC yesterday in the rain. They're so pimp and gorgeous!

Sell the Bimmer Chris...Sell the BIMMER!

I know it's not yours, but I'm sure your sister would much rather a beautiful SLC:bowdown:

Splendid car! The AMG-treatment and dechroming suits it very very well!

I'll have to make pics of mine, don't really have time right now.

BTW I usually move mine (a regular M117 450, D-Jetronic) with 14.5l (really without restraining myself, but no excess), however in town it's more like 18l. For a 35 year old car with only 3 gears and a 225hp V8, it's not that bad I find!

Tell me about it my milage so far this spring is 15.5L/100km and that is mostly highway. Good thing gas is cheap in Canada.

Indeed. :t-cheers:

Because of the effects of the oil crisis Mercedes even produced a 280SLC - it didn't help much, that thing still guzzled. :D

So you got a car that was gutless and guzzled gas, no thanks, if I am going thru a lot of gas it better be fast.:t-drive:

^ You have excellent taste in cars and dogs it appears by the rough collie I see in your photos. Not to get too off topic, but he/she is beautiful. I love that breed!!!

The 280SLC wasn't that slow for its time but the car was just too heavy and that's what made it guzzle gas.

looking for a water pump

I am looking for a water pump for my car (1981 500 slc M117.960) and haven't been able to find one in Canada. I found a few suppliers in the U.S. and U.K. that have the right pump in stock but refuse to sell or ship to Canada

Got pics of my new tires. Falken fk 542's 225/50/16

Happy you... Mine rides on 205/14, let me say you it's not the most common size on earth...:D
If you ever hear about a not too expensive set of 15" Bundt/cake or Penta-AMG wheels... I think I might "downgrade" to 15" steel with painted hubcaps, looks splendid too.

Dunno for the water pump, strange that they refuse to send it??

I will keep my eyes open as I have seen 15" pentas for sale in the past for $1000 usd. that was 8 months ago and I havn't seen any since.

I just found one that will ship to Canada should have it by friday. I guess the reason the suppliers didn't want to ship to canada is the paper work involved, even though I would have gladly paid extra, There loss.
