Quattroporte Sport GT

Actually, the Quattroporte is neither a serious M5 competitor nor it is a serious big luxury sedan player. It's a little bit of both, which makes it so difficult to draw comparisons with other cars.

One could argue, however, that the Automatic QP is leaning more towards S/A8/7er territory. The Sport GT is the closest to what an M5 competitor from Maserati is like. It does have CF trim, a stiffer suspension (it hurts on Sport mode!) but I'll agree with you here: despite the engine's credentials, the QP does deserve more power. That will be answered with a new 4.7L V8 in the coming years.

Yes, I agree. But the Maserati boss told us that the benchmark is the M5 and they'll go after it.
:t-cheers:

PS. Please do not generalise Americans to a stereotype; there are some of them that are like what you described, but there are also many more out there who's well-informed, educated and objective. It's only fair that I say this. :usa7uh:

Hmmm, that could be true, I said some and some (who traveled to Europe and/or ask us about how things are, what are diferences etc.). But there are (too many IMO) forums with people who oftenly have the problems I've mentioned, and I'm not talking about the likes of Autospies.
Ours is by comparison a quality site and Marcus is an inteligent person/poster, who's opinions and points I mostly apreciate and agree.

OK. We shall stop the discussion about Italian cars in general right here, let's just focus on the Quattroporte... :usa7uh:

If you guys want to discuss about Italian cars, please start a new thread.

:t-cheers:

Merc1 and IE, I have deleted your posts that are irrelevant to this thread. Please refer to my above post and my PM.

Quattroporte is a true "4 door super-car" :usa7uh: ...!

Sitting in the car everytime is like an event. It's a great feeling, but sometimes I also have the urge to jump back into the Phaeton for anonymity and for getting away from the limelight.

Update on service: Got the car back about a month ago, no problem since then so far...

I just saw this thread right now so Congrats on the new (well not new) car!!
To be honest, I'm not an admirer of the Quattraporte but as long as your dad and you love it, its all that matters! Great choice on the colour combo though. It was a risk but it certainly seems to have worked.
One quick question -- in the pictures, the black trim seems slightly low quality and lack-lustre. Is it because of the way the pictures were taken or is it actually like that in real life?

Thanks GR - I admit, the Quattroporte is an unorthodox choice... I can understand why you don't like it. :D

The piano trim is just like any you see in the S-Class or 7er... There are some quality issues with the edges of the trim being unfinished... But by and large I am quite satisfied with it. Maybe you can point out some pictures?

Sorry for bringing up this thread again... But here is an update with the new camera I used.
