Movies Prometheus -> Alien: Covenant -> ? -> Alien

I hope these awsome mini videos are not here to hide the emptiness of the film like for the first one. And i f#cking hope Scott stopped f#cking around with the final product by randomly cutting scenes and story parts just for the sacke of it a la lindelof.

Spine busting...

Interesting article on understanding what's going on in Prometheus.
When you strip it down to bare minimum it is actually a warranted and provoking piece of sci-fi.
There might not be Aliens per se running about as everyone expected. But everything has to begin somewhere.

Love it! LOL @ Rick and Morty! Prob the best animated series ever! Amazing they got to do a promo for Alien: Covenant

Alien:Covenant
8/10
(Slight Spoliers)
I have seen Alien: Covenant and it is dark and in general scarier and if necessary unnerving.
If you are familiar with the Alien series especially the first -Alien.
Then you know there is a lot more than just a monster in space. Alien delves deep into conspiracy theories (The company knew all along) and the superiority of AI over humanity -Perfection unclouded by remorse or morality which is the recurring theme.Something again delved into in Alien:Covenant.
Yes questions left unanswered from Prometheus are revealed as does Covenant pose new questions as science fiction should do. It is in essence to take the audience through the back door to the original Alien as Rogue One done to success with the original Star Wars. The issue is that perhaps we are looking at Ridley Scott making the other films in the series superflous. Which if you have ever seen the Alien Directors cut and the scene in particular which makes the sequel Aliens wholly redundant. Some may say it treads old ground just as "The Force Awakens" but Jedi's and Dark Siders have to combat with Light Sabres. And with highly concentrated acid for blood. Xenomorphs have to blown into Space but done with more conviction and visual enhancement.
Once everybody has seen it we can debate.

Saw the movie yesterday... Have some mixed feelings
I think Scott tried to put so many elements in the movie, that it is a bit too quick to let us concentrate and absorb.
It is scarier and much more alien than Prometheus, however doesn't match alien, aliens or even alien 3.
IMO, he should have made the movie much simpler
no need for a crew of 15, when you don't know the names or anything about their character, while their sole purpose is just to be killed by aliens.
Also, no need for so many aliens. IMO, you need ONE neomorph and only ONE xenomorph, but concentrate on giving them the respect they command - more difficult to kill, better and deeper cinematic work to make them scarier, ala original 3 alien movies.

All in all, I think the movie was mainly revolving around David, and not the aliens.
The neomorph has SOOOOO much potential. It is a real pity Scott didn't explore them more - meaning giving them more screen time.
Don't get me wrong, the movie was very nice, but I'm actually disappointed with Ridley's work - OUR hopes I think were just too high...

Alien Covenant like the original Alien has the right to create plot holes, because it’s in fact an allegory of the absence of reason being the ability to judge, or to put it another way, an allegory of why needless opposition is the necessary means to attack hierarchy. The opening sequence illustrates this perfectly when David asks his "Creator" what makes you superior when I will outlive you? Just Pour the Tea.

Agreed that they should make the monster more difficult to fight and less revealing, perhaps they shouldn't show them in broad daylight.
IMO, whatever happened to Shaw is the most disturbing part of the movie, I wish they could explore this part more. Shaw's compassion towards David is a very interesting concept, and how that turned into her own demise is really with exploring.
