I never thought I will ever have the chance to drive these cars together at the same time, however @Mr. Mercedes made it possible.

The two of us drove his 992 GTS and his Ferrari 296 GTB back to back, over the same mountain passes. The uphill section of the pass consist of short straights connecting the sweeping medium to high speed corners. The middle section of the pass consists of straight undulating roads, and slight bends followed by blind crests. The final downhill section begin with tighter S bends before opening up to more sweeping medium to high speed corners, followed by a straight run to the end of the pass, and to the start of the uphill run again.

We completed 3 full runs of the mountain pass. On the first run, Mr. Mercedes lead in the Ferrari while I followed in the Porsche. On the second run, Mr. Mercedes lead in the Porsche while I follow in the Ferrari. On the final run, I lead in the Ferrari while Mr. Mercedes follow in the Porsche.

There is so much to take in, so much to unpack. For now I will share this photo and say a huge thank you to @Mr. Mercedes for making this possible, and turning dreams to reality. The memories of the drive, and the drive afterwards through the city will be forever locked in my mind.

Wow what an amazing experience you guys must have been in heaven driving those 2 dream cars back to back. We all very eagerly waiting your reviews.

Hey Rolf, we also drove another car on the same mountain pass the day before, without saying too much, this car has a redline of 9,500 rpm.
Each of these cars have their own unique character, they all deliver devastating precision and speed in their own way.

Apologies for the delay, I am almost finished with the write up, should be finalised in the coming days.

Meanwhile I have a few more photos to share.

The drive through the city at night was just as memorable. I am fully aware that other drivers and pedestrians were either taking photos or recording videos of us driving pass them. Some deliberately slow down just to take a good look at the cars, while others actually encouraged us to speed pass them. Other drivers were kind enough to give space and let us merge onto their lane without any issues.

We have not experienced any bad reaction from anyone at all. Children and adults either smile, wave or give their thumbs up of approval.

Hey Luw, short answer yes, the 296 feels smaller and more agile than the 992.

Isn't it actually smaller not just feeling smaller?

Edit; nope they are pretty much as big:

ModelLength (mm)Width (mm)Height (mm)
Ferrari 296456519581187
Porsche 911 (992)4542–45701852–19001279–1303

The height difference makes the Ferrari feel smaller I guess....

While the physical dimensions are similiar, the 296 definitely felt lower and wider on the road.

Also the instant response of the steering, the chassis and the drivetrain all combined to give the feeling of a smaller car compare to the 992.

Yeah judging by my ChatGPT created chart the Ferrari is noticeably wider and lower, so that checks out.
