911 (991) Porsche 911 GT3 (991.2)

The Porsche 991 is the seventh generation of the Porsche 911 sports car. Predecessor: Porsche 911 (997). Successor: Porsche 911 (992). Production: 2011-2019.
Rumormill on Rennlist by an insider is that the next GT will be the GT2RS - as the swansong of the 991 range

This is what I was thinking all along as well.

I know some might disagree but screw the Norschleife record, I'd buy this over the Huracan Performante any day....ANY...GIVEN...DAY!!!! Nothing new cosmetically but I love it regardless

From what I heard from my local dealer the RS will have 4.2L engine with around 520-530hp...

Yes and no. Never ever would I buy a Lambo. Disgusting brand to the max. Poser cars. Horrible VAG creations.
The Nordschleife times however, do matter ;)

I do agree with you about the "relevance" of lap times, what I meant was that I'd pick the GT3 even in spite of the lap record of the Huracan. (that aside, I too, am not a big fan of the Audified Lambo's)

Marcus! This?!? I'd give my left nut for one of these:

In fact, it doesn't matter which model of the 911, the GT3 (RS) ALWAYS is great. Period.
But yeah, it probably is the worst looking GT3, which is something subjective to begin with. But objectively and factually, EVERY GT3 rocks.

Never been in an 996 RS, but a well driven 996 GT3 is probably the closest you can get to a race car experience in a street car. The thing is so raw, it makes 991/81 gen GT cars a limo in comparison.

For all you manual transmission fan, go and BUY this car NOW! Trust me, it will blow you away.

Sunny, if I may be so bold......sell you 997.2 GT3 and Cayman GT4 and get yourself a 991.2 GT3 with a manual transmission. You know I'm right......

^7.2 GT3? never (unless it is for a 7.2 RS) :)! GT4, yes. But other things in life has taken precedence over cars recently, so just happy to keep what I have for now...

One thing I learned from the GT4, is the no new car is going to replicate the raw experience of these older GT cars. Lot of people think, it is just the manual, but it is not. Not saying it is a better experience, but definitely a different one and a more special one, to me.

No Martin, don't do it. 996's had too many Toyota fingerprints on them. They were disgusting, awful, water cooled little cars, I kid but just.
