911 (991) Porsche 911 (991.2) Facelift - Spy Pics & Info

The Porsche 991 is the seventh generation of the Porsche 911 sports car, produced from September 2011 to December 2019. It was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show on 15 September as the replacement for the 997.
Apparently the car will be revealed in Sept 1st week. And production also already started -

Factory Tour today. Abbreviated one because 1/2 of production assembly area at Werk II was off-bound due to the presence of a model in regular production they didn't want the public to see. The model turned out to be a series of 991 .2 post-faced lifted Carrera or Carrera S. But by sheer luck, as we were being shown the area in the back of the factory where they were parking just assembled cars, a .2 Carrera (perhaps an S) in 'Lava Orange' and with black 'glass roof' option appeared as it had rolled off the assembly line. The rear deck lid was air vents were gloss black and 'meshy'. The apertures for the turbos on the rear bumper were clearly visible.

Official release must be imminent. More pictures needed, mixed feeling so far, not that much of a change (as expected) I think I like the 991.1 better...wait and see. The exhaust arrangement reminds of the first gen audi TT. It looks nice. So many things to look forward too, especially how its going to sound, will there still be a sport exhaust? (porsche does not offer a factory sport exhaust options on its turbo and turboS 991. Will know soon enough.

Is this the new "GT" model? (PCCB, front spoiler, larger rear spoiler, Sports seats, GT3 side mirrors, wider than base tires, exhaust)

Also, anyone notice the new door handles?

You are probably right. The front bumper and even central rear exhaust are a notch too sporty to be standard.

^ I wasn't

I wasn't thinking a complete redesign, but more like an update to keep it interesting. Granted, it's 911, so I guess one doesn't need to keep things "interesting." But I figured there'd be more involved outside of just updating the console screen.

lol I just didn't want my car get outdated so soon :D

I wonder what they going to do with the rearlights when the next 911 is being designed. They were playing to make them thinner and thinner with each new version of the car. The 991 pushed that to the limit and now this FL is reversing part of that and making the lights less slim again.

I guess this is what happens when the design changes are so limited as with this model. It has to have the traditional round headlights, the characteristic proportions, slim, horizontal, rearlights...

My German is, unfortunately, lacking. Can someone give a brief synopsis, especially their sense of the new engines? Thanks in advance!

From Rennteam member KresoF1:

991.2 Carrera 370ps/6500rpm + 450Nm/1700rpm

991.2 Carrera S 420ps/6600rpm + 500Nm/1700rpm

991.2 Carrera S X50 450ps/550Nm

Max revs are 7500rpm.

Max speed is the same as on 991.1 models but, acceleration is way better 4.3s for 0-100km/h for base model and 4.0s for S model (both without SC!).

991.2 CS Sport Chrono Package includes RWS.

And now this... With SC, new -20mm/SPASM, PDK and PCCBs 991.2 CS on street P Zeros is faster on the Ring then Cayman GT4.
