yes its the same, so you can say they are Semi-R-tires.

I dont know about the rest but Z06 is using "normal" tires, run-flats.

they are called semi-R-tires. 997TT is using semi-r-tires as well.

Semi means they are better on wetconditions than 100% R-tires is. R-tires are for the track and very bad in wet conditions, semi-R-tires can be used on a track and on the street, not as much grip as R-tires but better than "normal" tires.

Popular Mechanics??? They know as much about cars as i know about Robosapian. Very Little! If they ran the test right the numbres would have put the Z06 ahead, the 911tt behind it, the R8 and finally the Viper. Obviously they didnt do this right-and Andreas your right in asking what kind of tires they were using-im sure these guys dont even understand that....

They ran a few laps at streets of wilow then decide to throw an article together???? Holy cow-thats weak. I think this isnt a great source to be honest. wait for R&T on this one.
