Pics of my 2014 550i XDrive

2,5 years of experience, 80k kilometers on the clock and no single problem. :D
I do about 80k km in 8.5 years, that is a lot of driving ! The car looks great in this color combo, I see far too many boring black interior in cars these days. Also if you want to reduce the shininess of the steering wheel, you can wipe it down with a damp warm cloth.

When I had my 545i e60, fuel consumption according OBC was between 12l and 13l. I'm surprised to see your consumption above 15l...

Maybe because the F10 weighs like 250 kg more, and has an engine with 100+ hp more...?

Interesting. Because the steering wheel is the only part of that interior that looks used, where the rest looks brand new...

Maybe because it's the most touched part of the interior... :D

That is the first thing I noticed too. The steering wheel is shiny because of the build up of dirt, sweat and oil from your hands.

I cleaned the steering wheel on the w211 for the first time in a while, and I couldn't believe how much dirt was removed. The shiny left side is dirty, the right side is clean.

Nice ride. It must go like a train! Is that Nappa or Merino leather? What product do you use to clean and condition the seats?

^Thanks. It's Merino leather.

I use only this of BMW:

I always wash my car at local BMW service and the guys over there always use this product.

Wow, still looks great (y)

I'm just wondering how you keep it so clean? Do you not allow your kids in it?

Won't it ruin a leather wrapped steering wheel?

From what I have read, 99% of the automotive leather are painted and then coated to repel water, oil and other things that comes in contact with them. The coating will wear away over time so you will have to do a test spot first. If a water droplet holds its shape on the leather it mean the coating is still there.

A soaking wet cloth will probably allow the water to seep into the seams and stitches and go underneath the leather trim, this will definitely cause damage. If you wipe it with a warm damp cloth it will help remove the layer of oil and dirt on the surface. The next step up is to use leather cleaner to loosen and lift these contaminants from the surface of the leather, without damaging the coating.
