Petition to reinstate Jeremy Clarkson

^ Fifth Gear is utterly boring. It's broadcasted by Discovery Channel here in Netherlands if you want to see it.

Tiff is a great guy, but the show sucks (IMO). And Vicky is I believe married to a (now probably ex-) Top Gear executive producer.
Fifth Gear is like Top Gear USA. Boring.

I personally think they should give Clarkson a few hundred hours Community Service and keep the show going. That would be more of a punishment for Clarkson and less of a punishment for everyone else.

Like... make him drive the Metro buses? :D

He should be facing community service due to him committing a criminal offence. Why he's not been arrested for assault is beyond me. Probably due to the victim being a forgiving guy.

Oh that's considerate of them. Maybe they should be sacked for not doing their job? They're paid an awful lot of PUBLIC money to present the show, which they could have done.

It's an utter disgrace.

Yes, like you posting half the comments in this thread.

People like you are the problem here. Instead of simply watching something else on one of the 1000 tv channels, you keep picking on things you dislike. This thread so perfectly shows your character.
Klier, whatever differences you have with Betty, please talk to the moderators first instead of starting an open argument with Betty, this will not end peacefully, and it certainly won't achieve the desired outcome.

Take a chill pill. This is not the crime of century. This is a guy who drank too much and did something stupid, outside of work time. Hands up if you've never done that.

After the Jimmy Saville BBC scandal, the Sheffield and Rotherham police scandals and the historical establishment scandal, this is actually a very human kind of crime.

And neither is anybody calling for Jeremy Clarkson to be hanged.

I've done many stupid things whilst drunk. I have never physically attacked a colleague forcing them to go to hospital, however.

Why do you continue to keep bringing up completely irrelevant things?:confused:

Not completely because JC has put his lawyers on someone within the BCC who compared him to Saville.

What relevance does that have in the context of Emu's post though? He wasn't talking about any legal issues JC has with someone comparing him with Jimmy Savile. There's no need for Emu to even bring up Jimmy Savile or anything else, in the same way that what the BBC serves in their canteen has nothing to do with JC's suspension. Emu just keeps making irrelevant points either because he's young and immature or he is deliberately trolling.

I think you'd like to see him hanged if you thought it was possible, preferably after being found guilty of 'Treason against Political Correctness'. Seems to me you've just disliked the guy for some time.

Yeah I know, guy gets drunk and punches someone. Some dumbass compares him to a guy who abused hundreds of children, over several decades, whilst working for the BBC, who very suspiciously (i.e. covered up by MI5 suspiciously) wasn't found out until after death.

Clarkson is basically a saint compared to many of the organisations who are castigating him. If only we could send him back 30 years to punch someone at the BBC, he'd have a 90% chance of punching someone who actually deserved it.

I cleaned the thread after you drove it off-topic already once. Don't make me do this twice.

That said, why do you attack Betty? He's made his point clear. No one has the right to punch another guy, no matter the circumstances, let alone because of such a reason!

In addition, Jeremy Clarkson is an employee of BBC, a public company, and is therefore a civil servant. There should be a higher level of expectation from civil servants and the same standards should apply to all of them, irrelevant of how much money they generate. In a democratic society, you can't say that someone is excused because he's so valuable to a certain company. This is not only an ignorant approach, it's also insulting.

To put an end to this, I suggest that all sides calm down a bit, as we don't know all the facts, and we should avoid speculations. Another thing we should avoid is dropping random and irrelevant facts, just to prove a point. Stick to the topic of the thread and keep it civil.

Thanks.

He has ulterior motives in terms of stopping or changing the Top Gear itself. There's far more to this than one incident.

JC should be punished but not in a way that affects everybody else more than him. I.e. community service. That will hurt his ego far more than leaving him to go off and start a show on Sky, whilst everyone else loses their job.

Clarkson is a very talented journalist ......he writes very well and has a very good sense of humour that unfortunately gets him into trouble in the overbearingly politically correct and self-righteous atmosphere at the BBC.

The outspoken, shamelessly unfashionable, Anthropogenic Climate-Change denying, Conservative, Clarkson doesn't fit in.

The BBC has become a staunchly Left-leaning, gender neutral, cardigan-wearing, Metrosexual-only zone, they have wanted to get rid of Clarkson for some time. It must annoy the hell out of them that he is so popular.

I'd say he is a talented entertainer (these days) rather than a journalist. I'd also wager that he would have been given his marching orders long ago, had it not been for the fact that the TopGear Franchise is hugely profitable for the Beeb and that they do not want to jeopardize.

Yes, to be honest, I lost interest in Top Gear some time ago because it got so silly.

As has been said earlier, Clarkson's ego has got the better of him. You are right, if it wasn't for the sizeable profits, Clarkson would have been dropped years ago.

However, I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy watching Clarkson annoy so many of the control freak Social Engineers who would ban private automobiles if they had their way.

i remember reading on carbuzz that the producer doesn't want top gear to be cancelled, so it's all in the fans favour

To be honest I too would be very pissed if I have told I wanted a nice hot steak after a long exhausting day and then I was served some f#cking soup.
