What is the positionning between the CLS and the new GT sedans ? Who is more expensive and bigger ?

The AMG GT and M8 Concept Gran Coupe really need to be seen in person to understand them from an aesthetic point of view.
First thing is both are really enlongated so their muscular appearance really fills out their metal work. They are exceptionally low with shallow glasshouses. Both are exceptionally aggressive in their own distinctive way. And both will justify their price tags and exclusivity.

In a time when SUVs are increasingly absorbing the luxury car segment, I think the AMG with its bodsciousness and interior style, is making the saloon great again.

I like it but the CLS in 53 AMG guise is the sweet spot for me, both in style and price.

What is the price ?

M6 GC. One of BMW's best. Not as edgy as some of the newer segment entries,
Panamera close second,
AMG GT4 would probably be next, but I've yet to see one in a colour pallette I like,
Rapide has a V12, which is almost a default win, I just think they messed up the classic Aston Coupe lines,
I'd take the last CLS over the new one 99 times out of 100,
Audi A7 - in any flavour - just doesn't appeal at all.

What is the price ?

In the UK the 53 AMG will be £74,000 which is 5% more than a Panamera 4. However a Porsche is a Porsche and if you can afford one, go for it.

The 53 is a nice car but the engine note and driving dynamics are unlikely to sweep you off your feet.

After the SUV's and SAC's. The other growth segment in the luxury market is "Practical" Sports cars. The demographic for sports cars has radically changed and manufacturers have understood that requirement for additional doors on sports cars to fulfill the customers more direct needs for extra flexibility.
The Panamera understands and succeeds at this role perfectly.

Speaking of the Panamera, I am always surprised by how popular it is among kids from wealthy families.

The sports edition bumpers and side skirts really enhance the look of the car, but the kit alone is over $10k AUD...Are you going to get it for your car?
Yeah its a must in my book, really gives the car the finishing touch.
And yes i specced it and its really to expensive, less than 10K aud, thats like 6600 euro.
Here the sportdesign package is 5200 euro for the gloss one and 4800 for the matte one.

Not having seen the AMG in the metal, it might be unfair to say this, but I think the rear reminds me of the Panny Mk I. Whereas the Panny MkII looks perfectly sleek with great details inside and out.

All that said, the Sport Turismo....perfecto. It's a good thing.

I know I will probably get banned from GCF for this, but it has to be said - this has one of the best silhouette of "sleekish" 4 doors.
