Hey mate. I strongly suggest you take a FL W212 for a test drive before making a decision. Both my dad's and my uncles vehicles are fitted with AMG packs and sports suspensions. The gains they have made in ride quality, refinement, body control and handling are very noticeable. The body control is much tighter, the car glides over the bumps more confidently with far superior dampening and the road noise is greatly reduced. The transmission is also far smoother and quicker in it's operation. In summary I feel the facelift is superior in all respects and will probably drive better than a pre facelift CLS too.

The 250 engine in the E is very adequate. It's no sports car that's for sure, but it's refinement leaves little to be desired and it's response is punchy enough for what is essentially a luxury saloon. It's the same unit that's found under the bonnet of an A250 sport, but you would never guess it so disparate are their states of tune.

Love the colour combination, we this side of the pond are far more conservative when it comes to interior colours. I must say whilst I drop the brother off to collect his SLK from getting a service I checked out the FL E-class and its a stunning looking machine, the interior quality appears to be top notch.

A few shots I took of my aunt's E in Tenorite Grey. The specifications of this car are identical to my uncles Diamond White E. I don't know which one I like more.

Two years ago i was camping, and next to me parked a german, with a e250cdi in brown with beown interior. was the first time that i seen that colour combination, and it looked amazing!

So after a 14 years absence since we sold the w220 S320 back in 2002, the S-class finally returns to our garage. Here's Dad's new S350d that we picked up yesterday. Thrilled is an understatement.

It's being detailed today so more pics will follow.

Great choice, Mohamed. And congrats.

Hopefully this S-Class treats your father better than that W220.

Thanks Yaz. Well we've had a very good reliability run in the family since mum's 2008 W204, so I'm sure things should pan out well for the S. It's in it's 3rd year of production as well, so any issues should be well sorted by now.

Congrats Mr Mercedes for the purchase of the S Class, not everyone gets to experience a brand spanking new S Class..so enjoy the moment thoroughly. .looks great btw.
