@bmwuk
Best pics till now

these pictures are taken by an iPhone and turn up great ,while BMW spends tons of $ to make a good marketing video/photo and they all turn up like sh*t and make the car look worse than it is,i mean why bother with the professional photos when an iPhone pic presents the car really well…

Just get the car to a dealership take some pictures with your phone and done

Probably the best pics of the 5-series I've seen yet even though it looks like it has a big dent in the back door.

Thank You @domleo999 for sharing your IRL experience...

Ultimately, this car is no longer a photo friendly car...this is now common Across BMW with the likes of the 8er, the new 7er, this new 5er, the E60, E65. Pictures do not, I repeat do not, do justice to this car. I've not seen this car IRL but I already know it will look amazing but some people can't see things that way.

People still don't get it. BMW design is on another level, hence all the controversy, which is just a by product of their amazing product. All the garbage people said, are saying and will say about BMW design is laughable stock. So carry on (not on this page please though) you lot, you know who you are, but look back at BMWs history and learn from it.

I'm starting to like that M Treatment grille... How does BMW do it? You see a new Merc, it looks good but after some time...hours or days...it doesn't look good anymore🤣...the eyes and mind quickly de-inspire their cars...for me personally.

But yes, the car is turning out to be yet another stunner from Bm. This and the G70 might make a massively massive success for Bmw. The 3er is a beautiful peice of a car and sits the way it should in the brand, simple, original, focused no drama. Great job BMW, great job.

Something in Black?

It's a pity that there aren't more, well they will be arriving, black is a color that I want to see from various angles and types of light.
The wheels deserve special mention, 3 or 4 of them (including some 18" or 19" I think), are sensational.

Who says? the same as always?, don't fall for that one, obviously it must be much better IRL, which doesn't mean that there's nothing wrong with the photos

I've been into the automotive industry for more than 25 years and I can't remember finding the design of the new BMW cars more dreadful.

A company like BMW with that heritage, more than 100 years of engineering-experience, all the smart people in the background; they release a new car and the only thing people do is talking about the design and how much they don't like it, you do something fundamentally wrong. Period.

Is there also no alcantara headlining available ?

It's kinda blowing my mind that I recently configured an i4 with all these things and I can't get them in this.

edit : now I can't remember if it's available in the i4.

I would love to see that, if you can please link to the videos where the people who saw it say something other than good things about the design...ahhh sorry you are talking about here and almost only here, ok now I understand, I understand very well too because here some like you do not like it, totally respectable, I myself imagined so many final results of the 5 series that were not this, but this is it and comparing it I do not understand the buzz, much ado about nothing

Black always helps blah blah blah, broken record in all BMW threads with each release

As been said for years, if a car primarily looks good in black, it's inherently a bad design. For example, I see many people saying "I can tolerate the new 7er's face in black"
I don't think it's inherent to anything, but "at night all cats are brown" say the saying
MPerformance.
What was said about the wheels, each one better than the other, is this a totally new model?

I’ve been suspecting as much. I mean, that it will be better in real life. If a design is very three-dimensional, it doesn’t translate well into a two-dimensional photo. For example, I hadn’t realised that the headlights have a strong wrap-around element to them. And the M Sport front bumper seems to have some depth to it as well that is difficult to appreciate in photos. Will be interesting to see in real life.

Exactly. Two-dimensional photos don’t show the surfacing of the car. Photos make the side profile look very ‘flat’. It isn’t the case in reality. And yes, the M sport bumper has a lot of hidden depth. Probably my favorite style to date. Certainly more traditional than, say, the X5 facelift bumper. The cockpit is also nicely angled towards the driver.

The interior quality is also top notch. Much much closer the the 7er this time round. Minimum hard plastics and a real sense of occasion and luxury in the front. I’ve been in the 7 series frequent as we have a fleet of them at my company. This such feels like a sportier interpretation of that.
