And a while ago Eni had hinted that the 5 series was going to be the "conservative" compared to the new 7, lol

Compared to the i7 it is conservative. No Split lights, no gigantic Kidney Grille, less angular and less geometric. The i7 does not betray its luxury class persona as the i5 looks like another interpretation of the businessman’s express. Sharing no exterior styling with the i7.

I remember how great the F10 looked without the M Pack. This started to change with the LCI, which started introducing this silly bits of chrome in the front bumper. G30 with no M Pack looked bad as well.

Problem is this G60's weird proportions are partially hidden with the M pack.

First of all, in those photos that you posted it looks spectacular.
More or less radical/conservative than the 7, ... the split lights yes but I think that 5 shows in those photos how radical the C pillar is compared to all before? It is thin for the first time in decades and with that great interpretation of the Kink with the 5 engraved (which I wished would happen) as the "hybrid 5" F10 had, plus how wide it is (the polished aluminum one is even more noticeable) very in line with the Z4 touring concept, which I also thought it was time to add to the line.

It is very modern in general, that sharp front, the endless and protruding hood, the shett metal of the profile, the great fall of the tail .... in almost everything it is totally different from the 5 series of the last 25 years..., what's more, it's so much that it's to digest it for a while

G30 better than this one no doubt. It looks tall and not planted on the ground, no feeling it.

Screams look at me, in your face and won't win any beauty contest. Seems like this is BMW design language, messy aggressive bumpers.
I like the facelifted X5 and 3 series but this 5 er has too much going on and an ugly rear diffuser for no purpose.
The hood shut-line over the headlights its a straight line like on X1 and looks lazy design.

Interior is nice, but quality seems lower than before, much more plastic on the doors.

All in all BMW makes really good SUV's.
