I just saw the G60 at the dealer in the most basic of the basic trim and it still looks very good.

Interior
- The new interiors are a bit shocking because they are very minimalist, coming from the school of wood, aluminum and leather in large and apparent quantities of my ex A6 C6
- It seemed solid to me like a block of granite.
- The light bar is a total charm
-In the back, it seems to me that the Audi felt airier
- The screens break your eyes with their quality and clarity
- Very comfortable seats
- In short, it feels like two steps forward in modernity, which is why it requires adaptation to gloss plastics, etc.

Exterior
- It didn't seem as big to me as mentioned here, maybe because I saw it inside the showroom? Could it be because of the 19" silver wheels? I saw it as a normal size 5 series.
- Strange feeling IRL, it's like with the interior, they skipped a complete generation and despite that it is a silhouette that is familiar, it is different and especially because of the tail it brings flashbacks of the E12 as a whole.
- It is designed so that you get used to it.

There were also some that I had not seen before.:

iX2 - Much more car than the previous X2, super crazy rear lights, it also requires adaptation time to consider it as an alternative to the X1, but I think in the end I would choose the X2

i4 - Looking at it it is immediately clear why it is so successful, it suited me very well, age, etc.

M2 - Manual, in that special light blue with black wheels and carbon backets, the exhaust are gigantic, they look like trumpets
-It looks really great, it has a single purpose and it screams it from every inch, there is nothing superfluous about it and it commands respect, the brake discs are rude and it is very striking in all they body widths.

-Inside it is like a cocoon, the buckets are very comfortable and enveloping like a glove (except for getting in and out), I doubt there are many more cars that feel so sporty and pleasant inside, super solid, I wanted to sleep in it.
-From the outside, the most BMW of all those there, reminiscent of all the golden eras, has little things from each one.
Is there anything you think they could improve on?

Did you not notice the immediate reduction of material quality on all of the lower areas of the car compared to the G30/F10/etc? Those are way too apparent to me, especially the doors and lower center console.

The screen and seats are awesome, yes.

I´ve spent some time with both G60 and G61 now, and here is my suggestions.

G60/G61 exterior
- The car missing some good proportions. Sadly it looks like it's put together by two different cars up to and from the B-pillars. The long hood does not fit very well with the short rear end. The G61 fix all of this, and the upraising tail lights fits the design very well.
- I think the whole design is to bloat. No sharp lines, the hood is flat, the side looks flat. The whole car seems upraised and very FWD in the design - not sharp, heavy and low like the previous 5-series.
- I feel the wheels (and rim design) looks to small for the car. It's like the tires are a size to small, and the rim design is to "flattern" and non-concave.
- The lack of the windscreen opening on the tailgate is a bad thing. They argue with aerodynamics, but I can't see any different between the sloping tail from G21/G81 to G61 so I can only conclude that it's a cost cutting thing.
- It feels cheap that they put the reversing camera with the trunk opening switch and not in the BMW emblem like the G26 4er, iX and G70 7er.

G60/G61 interior
- The cargo cover on G61 does not raise anymore, so loading the trunk is not as good as previous. That's a bad user experience.
- They use the "old sunroof" button with dummy functions (the button imagine tilt function and has the push for tilt function).
- The thin fabric instead of the thick sunroof cover (that was a G31 thing too) is bad for the noice and isolation. I´ve notice big difference in the noise and isolating compared to the F11 - especially in cold weather with snow/ice.
- To big areas in the door panels are shiny hard plastic. Its sad that the door pockets does not have any fabric inside since things makes a rattling sound. Some part of the lower dashboard are also in hard plastic. The lower part of the center console as well.
- Bowers & Wilkins feels like a big downgrade compared to the old B&W in the G3x and B&O in the F1x. I think the B&W in the G60 are just a rebranded Harman Kardon (the spec indicates it too). The speaker covers are just in plastic and fabric, and it's inconsistent on how the rear door speaker cover are designed compared to the front door speaker covers.
- The lack of wood trim on the rear door panels make they look extremely cheap. That includes the ambient lighting as well.
- Missing door sills makes the door entrance area looks cheap. Even the new iX1 has door sills.
- Flat bottom steering wheel is not a thing for me, but the weirdest part is the red top mark and the missing options to remove it. Imagine how "beautiful" the red part will look with crafted clarity elements and merino tartufo.
- The G61 has picture of an G20 pre-LCI in the iDrive where it's supposed to be pictured by a G61. I cannot confirm if that's just due to that the G61 was an pre production car or if it actually happens.
- i5 missing charging caps on the AC output. The lower DC output has the same charing cap from the i3.
- The iDrive controller has too short "operating area" forward/backward/sides, so it feels like its "lagging".
- Its sadly that the new comfort seats missing features like the upper seat back adjustment from the old seats, and its a big backward step that they have put the side bolster and the thigh support adjustment from the seat itself to the iDrive screen. That's a really bad user experience.
- Ill be missing features like soft close doors, night vision, full leather options, the good old comfort seats/M multifunction seats ++
- The window switches feels like they came from an VW. No details and very cheap plastic feeling.
- Putting the driving assistant buttons on the steering wheel into the iDrive screen is a bad thing.
- I don't like the place of the volume knob. Its not necessary to put it in the most "important area" of the center console with the iDrive knob, gear selector, start/stop button and driving controls.

Very substantive, nearly a forensic analysis.

Is there anything you think they could improve on?
Speaking from my taste, it seemed like a boring and sad interior in terms of the paneling. I don't know if it's the color palette that's too "avant-garde" or how the surfaces are arranged, but it's something that I didn't like right away.

The interior handles of the doors, which should or pretend to be made of metal, I didn't really know what they were in the end, they didn't seem intuitive to me, I had to think about how to get out, but well, I guess you have to get used to them when they redesign something.
I liked sitting in the M2 much better, but I guess I still carry a more classic side.

On the outside I only missed seeing a full version, I think the design works better with the correct wheels and goodies, but well, in general all cars do it

It may be but I didn't notice it too much, perhaps because of the "dark" interior in general, what I can say is that there is no loss of quality per se, as I said, everything is ultra solid, perhaps in the use of certain textures referring to missing finishes such as the plush on the inside of the pockets, but it did not affect the overall view.

I If I had to exemplify, inside it would be like the transition from the E39 to the E60, the same thing I felt, from the Sumun of materials to the other extreme, the minimalist era

Of course I missed the abundant wood and other classics from past series, but I guess it is what it is and requires a period of adaptation, I also preferred the leather case of my Blackberry that was part of the phone and we had to get used to what we have today ......

I liked (which I didn't know about) the "guest" mode that turns on a demo and even the air conditioning when you get in the car even if you don't touch anything

An addition or a replacement?

I don't even know any more. The C-Class was supposed to be the replacement for the 330e Touring, yet I still have both. Something will have to go, however, as I don't have room for any more cars. Five is the limit.

Can't go wrong with Walken, even if it was a lightly warmed over premise from ten year old SNL
