There used to be a special color you could order on some Audi models that was called "Hot Chocolate", but we never thought somebody would literally cover a TT coupe in actual chocolate. And yet that's exactly what we are looking at. You know what? It a good look for the young German two-door.
This project could only come from Belgium, a country famous across the world for the quality of its sweets. This industry dates back to the 17th century and forms a very important part of this small country's economy. Around 2,000 companies export 172 thousand tons of chocolate sweets, so the TT is but a drop in an ocean of culinary delights.

As part of an exposition taking place at the 2014 Biennale Interieur, a brand new TT two-door, fresh off the German automaker's assembly line, was covered in some of the most delicious looking treats you've ever seen in your live.

The sweetest Audi ever made

The Interieur is not a major car show you've never heard about, but a show dedicated to furniture and interior decorations. This is a clear statement from Audi that its TT is not only an automobile, but also a lifestyle statement, something that fits a particular kind of client who's never going to settle for a Japanese import and knows all about the latest design trends.

The whole 4.2-meter long body of the third-generation Audi TT body required no less than 27,000 delicious pieces of chocolate to cover. They're are of different shape, size and color and were skillfully created by pastry baker and chocolate confectionery Joost Arijs.

The car was on display for a whole week and Audi Belgium, who was only too glad to provide the car, created a special Facebook page where everybody could post their picture with the car. Nobody knows what happened to all those delicious Belgian goodies after that. We do know that if we were there, we might have been hospitalized for diabetes.

Interesting. I quite like this reviewer and the fact that he stressed out twice that this new TT sits on the same platform as the VW Golf, the Skoda Octavia and their likes, as well as pointing out its every day usability, yet retaining a sporty character makes me think that this is exactly what it is.

A sports shape build into the hatchback, MQB platform, which is as easily driven as your everyday Golf, yet has a sporty touch. Nothing more, nothing less.

On the other hand, I am now impressed. This driver LCD screen that has all the data, as opposed to having multiple screens and hundreds of buttons, is impressive. Colour me excited!

I couldn't wait and I drove it last night. Handles very nicely. Using the new virtual cockpit makes me feel like a grandma with an iPhone though. I already have MMI in my A1 and I hope this would get easier to use.

The exhaust sounds nice, but the engine feels a bit emotionless to me... but I think it's just a typical 4 cylinder, it probably just doesn't bother me as much in my A1 because it's not supposed to be a sports car.

The sales guy put the hard sell on me, it's been a while since I've had a salesperson do a trial close on me. I am not used to it...

Power bumped to 310 HP
ABT Sportsline has released their first tuning program for the all-new Audi TT Coupe.

They focused on the base four-cylinder 2.0 TFSI engine which has upgraded from the series 230 HP (169 kW) and 370 Nm (272 lb-ft) to 310 HP (228 kW) and 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque. To go with the power bump, ABT enhanced the TT's looks by installing a different front skirt and revised mirror caps while at the back there's a new fixed rear wing and a skirt insert featuring two extra side attachments.

ABT applied a black & red theme and installed a custom quad exhaust system with black end pipes and they also replaced the standard alloy wheels with a 20-inch DR set wrapped around in Continental tires.

At the 2014 Essen Motor Show which kicks off tomorrow, ABT will also bring their Audi RS6-R Avant and a tuned Volkswagen Golf R.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
