That's got to be the most 'blingy' Mercedes since the 1930s!

Funny, Sacco did everything he could to remove the chrome from Mercedes .......now Wagener is pimping them better than a Vegas coke dealer.

....and I'll say it again in my native language:

Zu dick aufgetragen. Wahrhaftig zu dick aufgetragen.

Had a ride in my friend's custom order S 500 coupe today with full designo interior trim. What an amazing car it was, both inside and out. He paid the same price as the S63 AMG but he said he prefer the more comfortable and gentleman drive of the S 500.

Price of the full spec S500 is similar to S63 base price.
But when you get full spec S63 it's goes well above 200k (euro).
When S63 coupe arrived here in my country, it was about 230k euro ( 237 if I remeber well ). Base price here are : S63 AMG Coupe - 178,416. euro / S500 coupe - 127,980. euro

And beside the price, it seems that S coupe sales like hot cakes for that class of cars.
And S63 is most often version that I see.
And yes, there are two types od buyers, one who prefer standard ( top ) version, and other who buys AMG.
Both have pros/cons.
Standard is more comfy, less expensive ( and to maintain ), AMG is more performance oriented, stiffer, more expensive ( to maintain also ) etc...
So it just about preference.
Which colour is his car ?
And interior colour ?
And one thing that today is different than in the past is that gap betwen S500 and S63 AMG performance is significantly reduced.
S500 has brilliant performance too.
And sound also, beside that now it's a (bi)turbo.

Things are a little different in the Sydney market. The fully optioned S 63 has a drive away price of $440k AUD, the S 500 coupe is around $350k AUD, however the dealers are offering a lot of discount on the floor stock, up to $40k off. You can get a S63 for $390 to $400k. Since my friend's S 500 has to be custom ordered due to the designo interior among other options, the price has gone up to $390k drive away. I will upload some photos tomorrow.

Updated with photos. One of the best color combination IMO for the S coupe. The interior with the designo option is a must IMO, you can definitely feel the extra smoothness and suppleness of the nappa leather.

I think so too - although I think Palladium was available until last year or so. (Which is a shame, as it is a fantastic color).

Personally I like selenite grey more, it is just a shade darker than palladium but not as dark as tenorite grey. One last pic.

It was quite a difference getting back to my car after spending some time inside the S coupe. One day.....

@Monster
Your friend is a very lucky guy. He will have smile from ear to ear, whether he driving it or just watching it. :)
Awsome car, can't get better than that, IMO...
:wthumb2: :eusa_clap
Don't know does your friend owned Merc before, but I see that S coupe attract many buyers which are not necessarily Merc fans.
I think that C217 will be most selling model in S class coupe history.

I think so too, he works hard so he deserves it. He also opted for the 19 inch twin spoke AMG wheels rather than the standard 20 inch 14 spoke rims.

Well at least your car probably is more youthful and playful.
Never driven or even sat in an S coupe, but still; it's a behemoth

That is probably true, however the twin turbo V8 does make a very good impression of being playful.

It is a strange feeling, your mind tells you this car is long and heavy but the air suspension keeps the body movement in tight control while absorbing any road imperfection.

S class coupe always been top spot in the Merc range for me.
Had some models, now also have one.
C217 is just astonishing.
They nailed with it.

Mercedes-Benz is extending its range of exclusive special models now with the S-Class Coupé: the "Night Edition" will enter the European market in April 2017, with a US launch following in August 2017, and will offer very special exterior equipment details.

Paintwork in selenite grey magno is available as an option. This is a matt paint finish from the designo manufaktur range and features particularly high-quality special-effect pigments.

Night Edition is available for the S400 and S500.
