I cannot wait to see this in person. The more I look at it the more I like it.

They are going to be one and the same company here shortly...

Uh...no. Just because they have strategic partnership with them doesn't mean they're going to merge. I think you forget Renault is attached to Nissan.

This is beautiful!

Any word if the AMG version will be offered in 4-matic?
If so, i will be getting rid of my G63 and getting the S63 Coupé!

MB seems to be working on these models. MBC seems to be optional? :)

217.377 S 63 AMG Coupé
217.378 S 63 AMG 4MATIC Coupé
217.379 S 65 AMG Coupé
217.382 S 500/550 Coupé
217.385 S 500/550 4MATIC Coupé <--- MB Passion suspects this one might be offered from the start, with others to follow lateron.

I've never been a CL fan for various reasons..

Me on the otherside (totally) my love for Mercedes-Benz started and lies in the SEC/CL. Merc's crown jewel! And read this folks: WOW! Just WOW! What a Winner!(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)+(y)

I wish...oh, I wish! I so want one, please help me!

BUT. I did not mention 'perfect'. Agree with @Tumbo the face is not special enough, much 'the same as.'
BUT. I can live with that;)

The AMG versions are going to be even hotter. I'd be happy with just this S550/500.

Can't add much more to what everyone else has already said. Absolutely stunning car that is on par with the C215 in terms of proportions/elegance.

Can't wait to see how killer the convertible is going to look!

This coming from an Audi fanboy is about as hypocrital as it gets, especially when a A4 looks just like an A8 and both of them look like nothing.

M

I made no mention of any other product or brand.

hello to my chose of new wallpaper..besides the car itself, congrats to the photograph team of this S coupe, you did a god job too.:D

The difference, my friend, is that we agree on that and realize that... While you still are in denial.

Right. Where do you think Mercedes got the idea????

From THIS;

And of course I don't want to go into details but at least Audi uses different light patterns and LED setup as well as different grill shapes (though largely the same aren't identical) and different lower valences and fog light configuration. Mercedes is just a near direct copy.

^^Utter trash:ROFL. Audi fan defending audis design, this made my day. Now lets stay on topic.

What I can say...Idk, my emotions are so mixed. I wanna cry, I wanna jump so high, I just wanna go on the street to scream sooo loud "this is Mercedes-Benz!" I'm so proud, my all-time favorite brand makes a lot of mistakes back in a couple of years, but my favorite brand is back again, the three-pointed star can shine and stay on the front of car proudly again. This is what Mercedes-Benz is all about, this is what people, fans, enthusiasts, customers expect from this brand. This is real promise of "The best or nothing" and I'm sure that Daimler and Benz are so proud even there somewhere in the sky.

How is that different than a Mercedes fan defending Mercedes design? Or any fan defending their preferred brands design?

What are you talking about? Do you know? Denial about what?

Oh man please. Would you get off this site with your bullshit.

Products looking the same or carrying the same corporate face. You accost Audi for doing it but defend when Mercedes does it. That sounds like denial to the rest of us.

See this proves you don't know what you're talking about concerning me or what I think or believe. Mercedes products have looked more or less the same for years it is called a family look. At no time did I say that Mercedes' didn't look like each other. They've had a family look for a 100 years using the same grille over and over and over. You don't know what you're talking about. Again. Mercedes has had a corporate "face" for over a 100 years.

i originally typed quite a bit to express my dislike towards the design.. put it in short though, i think the rear is so un-MB, it's not SLS, it doesn't resemble any old MB models, especially that chrome strip which shouldn't even be there. And imo the rear doesn't match with the modern theme of the rest of the car. If they went farther, and have a more aggressive long horizontal strip and force it to resemble the classic models, it would be something.
The front is very C-class (more so than A, CLA, GLA), i think one would have to wait for the car to come closer to realise its width before really confirming it's not a C. It looks better than the CL, but lost some of the GT-cruiser feel to it.
Interior is pretty nice but wow that door panel is plagued with controls, and it's like randomly stuck on...nothing is aligned, nothing is of a proper nameable shape, so it does look a bit messy - MB's new trend?
And no, RR and Bentley has nothing to worry about. This car with a C-class front and a BMW/Alfa/Renault/Nissan inspired rear by far does not match the exclusivity of any RR or Bentley models. Great car i'm sure it is, but not the same class.

Finally i wonder why, while they can apply the same front end across the range, why can't they apply this kind of interior across the range as well? Integrated screen like this is better than the iPad screen on any model.
