Hint: read the i3 press release, read the press drive reviews. Perhaps you'll at least get the info to debate the issue - or perhaps a miracle will happen and you will finally get it (what it is all about). Now you are talking without any insight. A good debate? I don't think so.

Am I personally upset at your attacks? Of course not. Does that make it acceptable for you to do it? It certainly does not. Or are you suggesting it's OK for people to just get personal with other members of the forum? If we were allowed to be personal against each other, belive me, you would feel the full force of my vitriol. But I am adult enough to not do that and I put my trust that the mods will respond to my "reported" post.

No I'm not.

They're controversial. People will take time to adjust to them from petrol engines. Maybe I will see the point of them over time, but as yet, I don't. I don't see what the i3 offers for the money above and beyond a normal petrol city car which are far cheaper, don't have the problem of range or refuelling, and are very economical. I think the i8 is compromised by having heavy batteries on board and an unemotional power train, which is surely what you want in a car of that price and looks. And boy does the i8 look good.

What you're telling me to do is censorship. This is a public forum and as long as I'm civil and I put my point across coherently, I'm entitled to contribute what I want.

So DblPen, rather than telling me to stay out, why not ignore my posts?

It's not the press drive review of production cars. It's the invited drive review -when journalist were invited to Miramar testing facility in August to be passengers in i3 during the presentation drive. So, Mr Cammisa was just a passenger, not a driver.

But he obviously has a bigger issue.

Unfortunately, the drive is where the i3 falls apart. Our time at the wheel consisted of 15 minutes on a cone course. The first thing I scribbled into my notebook: "This ain't no Tesla. It's not a BMW, either."
Threading an i3 through a slalom feels like autocrossing an X5 on snow tires three sizes too narrow. The battery pack is mounted in the floor, Tesla-style, helping to keep the center of gravity low, but you'd never know it. The tall body cranks into the air, lists like a sailboat, and settles into tire-chattering understeer at what feels like a walking pace.

Sure, if you expect from an city-centered small < 4m MPV to drive like a sports coupe, then you certainly have a problem. And that's exactly what Mr. Cammisa was obviously expecting in that case.

It's like listening to Gaga, Britney, Nicki, Miley or Katy songs and expecting an opera quality. Stupid who?

Also: in the reall press drives from Amsterdam the journalist reported nothing else than raving reviews - even from slalom test. How come?

Mr Cammisa, expecting every (cheap / cheaper & smaller) EV will be as good as costly & bigger Tesla is ridiculous. Just like ICE cars do differ from each other, so do the EVs. Not ever ICE car has the same performance, mileage, premium feel etc etc.

As a city car BMW i3 does just fine. It ain't a large family sedan. And those "journalists" do forget that packaging is limited by batteries & vice versa: so, the larger the car - the more batteries can be featured. The more it costs, the more powerful batteries it can feature. Etc.

Yes, its public forum, and to me it seems like you are whinning on it about BMWi like its your exgirlfriend. Im not going to ignore you just because of these threads, since i feel that you contribute to this forum otherwise, plus i generaly respect everyones opinion so i dont ignore people.

I personally don't get cars like the i3 or any all electric city car but then again I don't live in a big city so my brain isn't tuned to that kind of lifestyle. I'm sure if 99% of my journeys were less than 10/15 miles such a car would make a lot of sense especially if you were being offered a proper car for the occasional long journey.

In the absence of the possibility that BMW controls who gets invited to this and future BMW events, we have to conclude that 100% of "randomly" selected journalists think that the i3 is wonderful.

They look bloody awesome irl on the road between all those ordinary cars
