the arm rest of rear seat is carried over from G11 7er

This is factually not correct. You're welcome to your personal perceptions and judgement of the car, and to chat shit about stuff, but don't state perceptions as facts.

The photos are taken from 2017 Guangzhou motor show.the arm rest of rear seat is carried over from G11 7er,its material & fit and finish looks awful, totally unfit in such a expensive car like Phantom.

Erm yes, he's correct. The rear armrests of the Phantom VII and G11 are the same, just different finishes. The Ghost shares it's rear armrest with the F01 as well.

So what you're both trying to say, is that they look similar.

.... but they are not constructed from shared parts. There are parts in the back of the Phantom that you'll find as low down the ladder as the 5 series (meaning, that you can walk into any BMW dealer with a BMW part number, from a component you've taken from 5 series, order one, and have the exact component that is used in the Phantom), but to suggest, as gdm did, that the entire rear multi-function armrest from a Phantom could be exchanged with that of a G11 (or G12), with no technical or discernable differences is factually incorrect.

I'm not saying it matters that much, if people want to pay $12 for a part worth $5 because it was $5 but has been "re-engineered" to do the same job, and still is only worth $5 - and then also pay the low-economy-of-scale 'tax', that's up to them, I'm probably just being pedantic after conducting too many ****ing PPAP's over the years!

Point missed. It's the same armrest - refinished, and as @gdm was trying to say the armrest is the is carried over for VII, unlike the VI, which has a unique armrest.

In the end, it's just one part of the interior, so that's all I have to say

The arm rests of PHANTOM VIII looks similar to the 7er G11,because they are produced on the same mold.

Agreed, I can understand if they use this on the Ghost, however it is a a little disappointing to see this on the Phantom. It should be a no compromise, completely bespoke car.

This is car is beyond being just an automobile. It's an ultra-luxury item. An icon. An institution. A statement.
This one & Bugatti Veyron / Chiron. Period.

Just waiting for the "fake" ones to come along now.

Nobody wants to take this baby (along with the M5 in the other thread) home for the weekend?

I thought the same, then I remembered all the salt on the roads right now. It probably wouldn't be a good look to bring back an unreleased Phantom or M5 covered with grime and dirt.

It is now clear to me that it looks best in solid colors. The two-tone treatment gives it cheesy/Chinese/knockoff look. Its stunning in those pics in solid colors. WOW.

The Phantom VIII got a huge price bump over the VII. Average price is now $550k+. Big money.

Making (pricing) space for Cullinan. :)

The 7 series sourced rear armrest is so out of place.

Indeed! I can get over BMW iDrive controller and seat controls. But the copy/pasted rear armrest from 7er looks just hideous in Phantom. Fail!
