Ghost [Official] Rolls-Royce Ghost (2021-)

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a full-sized luxury car manufactured by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The "Ghost" nameplate, is named in honour of the Silver Ghost, a car first produced in 1906. The production model was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Ghost Extended Wheelbase was introduced in 2011. During development, the Ghost was known as the "RR04". It was designed as a smaller, "more measured, more realistic car" than the Phantom, aiming for a lower price category for Rolls-Royce models.

Yup...350k worth of plastic
There are some things in the Ghost interior that cheapen the overall expensive ambiance.

1) The black plastic column storks and also the shiny piano black plastic spokes and inner ring on the steering wheel look low rent for such an expensive car. The Bentley Flying Spur has much nicer and expensive looking stitched dual tone leather wheel and also beautiful metal knurled stalks in comparison.

2) The center console has also got nasty looking cheapish shiny black piano plastic trim around the HVAC and radio controls and tiny black shiny buttons. Compare to the Bentley which has gorgeous center console details in metal/chrome and stunning wood and stitched dual colour leather.

If you’re willing to pay the price RR will use whatever material you want.

The Bentley steering wheel is beautiful, shame the buttons come straight from a Golf.

The air vents are positioned quite low in the Bentley's central console. Far from optimal.

Honestly , for 350k , I did expect more in the interior...

If MB will get the Maybach W223 right , they will eat Ghost sales...

This top dogs only get the prices up , while tech ,design and quality remains the same.

The floor wasn’t Ssslippery but somehow I found myself on the floor after reading that. You cannot tell my facial expresssion...but I can asssure you I am not rolling about laughing..

Orange piping in the cabin suits the Ghost and Dawn.

Isn’t the top one the short wheel base version and the bottom one the extended wheel base version ?
no unfortunately the top one is the old model and the bottom the new one, see for yourself links here

the new one is a nice car sure to be admired when you encounter one in the flesh but it is not as easy on the eyes as the 2010-2020 model

You're mistaken, the bottom one is the extended wheelbase version, not the regular version. If you click the second link you can see the area where the license plate sits is a continuation of the grill, which only occurs in the extended wheelbase version. I attached two photos so you can see the difference. If you're gonna compare the profile of the original Ghost and the new one you should compare the correct versions.

This is the last time that I'll be saying enough with the personal attacks on each other...

@275others if you see @Merc1 profile he actually owns a BMW and as well as a Mercedes and Lexus. So you could say he is not really a fan boy or he would only own a Mercedes Benz.

Okay lets get back to the old mans car.

The dials kinda look good, I like that they haven't fully embraced an entire TFT/digital screen for the instruments and still link them to the past by surrounding the gauges in chrome strips.

The star effect section on the passenger side of the dash has me feeling mixed. In one way I like the Ghost emblem intertwined with the nice colour effect, but then I think the small stars look like flickers of dust fluff on the dash.

It’s like they added mass for the sake of adding it. It does nothing to enhance the look and actually makes the car look bulky and ungainly. Hopefully the lifespan is shorter than 10 years or they clean it up with the facelift.

The car looks so goofy and stupid it's laughable. Each pic is worst than the one before.

It is only less sporty, more luxurious, imposing and ostentatious, a beautiful car and repeating the same negative and exaggerated epithets over and over again does not make them a reality.

I agree, which means the same goes for what you keep repeating about it being XYZ doesn't make it so either. That said you can't tell anyone how the car looks to them. The exterior styling (a fail) has nothing to do with how luxurious it is, which is beyond question.

M

I honestly don't see the significance of that Martin, it's a personal thing for each individual. It isn't going to change for anyone based on what the majority or minority thinks.

M

There's no significance beyond exactly that: some people do and some people don't. Is there something I'm missing regarding you repeating your criticisms whenever someone presents a favourable view here?

Is there something I’m missing when the same favorable viewpoint is presented repeatedly?
