Taycan [Official] Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan is a battery electric luxury sports sedan and shooting brake car produced by Porsche.
If Taycan tech would have been improved since release the sales would've be higher. Is still the best EV to drive and much better than 992 as a daily, fast, responsive and even practical.
Not so good on efficiency and range because its heavy and the battery is too small.
I think the strategy to wait for the facelift to make improvements doesn't work for EV's.

I love my Taycan GTS more than my R8 V10. It's better suited to 99% of my life (married man with two young children). It's no use having a great car if for the majority of the time you can't drive it. The fact that it costs 70% less to driive per km than my R8 is a bonus.

But you're right, it's too heavy and too inefficient. The average consumption for my first Taycan was pretty bad at 25.9 kWh/100km. The GTS is 29.1 kWh/100km. 😳

Autocar's test car needed just 14 minutes to charge from 6% capacity to 80%

That is remarkably good. Better than even Lucid Air Dream Edition based on how you look at it.

If the battery is 100kwh like Autocar says, that is ~74kwh in 14 mins. Lucid Air DE takes ~20 mins to get the same 74kwh. But the Lucid will probably go much further with the same charge.

The Porsche Taycan is getting a face-lift, and we got behind the wheel of an updated 4S model to find out how much range has been improved — and the results were impressive. In this video, Edmunds’ Brian Wong gives you a full breakdown of our 2025 Porsche Taycan 4S highway range test, including max charging speed, range achieved and more.

Indeed, C&D got 212kW 10-90% average, while the Lucid Air they tested only got 135kW! The next best car they tested, the Genesis GV70, was only at 166kW. So 212kW is massively better than anyone else at the moment.

Also, surprisingly, in Edmunds testing the Taycan managed to get identical efficiency as the Lucid Air. Their Air DE got 28.3kWh/100miles, while the facelifted Taycan also achieved 28.3. This is despite the Taycan test being conducted at higher average speed than Edmunds normally test at due to it being a Porsche prepared route. Then again, it was a Porsche prepared route, so probably pretty favorable anyway.

All in all, also considering the N-ring time (for which we will hopefully get a video soon), this seems to be one impressive facelift.

Not realistic, given how slow he was driving, but still impressive.

In Norway where most highways are 80-90kph with 110 on motorways these ranges will be somewhat achievable.

My favorite new feature is easy entry. When you open the door it raises the car by several inches, instantly! Gives you best of both world, a low slung car with the entry ease of a cross over. Also perfect for aging but wealthy boomers.

Good of Porsche to future proof the car with up to 80% charge in 18 minutes. It might not benefit first owners but will ensure that the car isn’t junk in 5-10 years when super fast chargers are everywhere.

I can’t help to feel that this car will now be over shadowed by the EV Macan.

And the aging and also wealthy (or soon to be a wealthy) children of boomers.
