Panamera [Official] Porsche Panamera

The Porsche Panamera is a mid to full-sized luxury car (E-segment or F-segment for LWB in Europe) manufactured and marketed by Porsche. The Panamera name, as with the Carrera name, is derived from the Carrera Panamericana race.
According to a brief article in the most recent edition of Auto Motor und Sport, the LWB version of the Panamera will be presented with the scheduled facelift in 2012. In addition, the facelift will attempt to address the preceived "bloatedness" of current Pannys' exterior design. An all-new Panamera is scheduled for introduction in 2015 featuring a vastly expanded line-up of versions: SWB & LWB sedan, 2 door coupe + cabriolet and perhaps even a shooting brake version. It is reported that the all-new Panamera will feature a design which is a tad more than simply evolutionary. A bit more edge, visually slimmer and sleeker.

2015 new model ? I find that hard to believe since the current model was considered 2010 model and 5 years is a short life span for german automaker.

Much has changed over the past 18 months with regard to Porsche i.e. its' relationship with the Volkswagen Group. The current Panamera was developed quite independantly by Porsche AG thus not being subject to any sort of major stipulations as determined by VW AG. When the current Panamera was developed, little was known that an evolution of its platform would become the basis for the VW Groups' upcoming large car Modular Standard Platform Matrix (MSB). It is also no secret that certain very influential people at VW have never been very impressed with the visual appearance of the current Panamera though being surprised that the car is selling as well as it does. And with research & development processes becoming far more time efficient, it wouldn't surprise me in the least bit to see the series II Panamera sometime in 2015.

Yes but would that justify the tremendous cost of the original Panamera platform (P970 I guess ?) which was the highest among Porsche history ? I would be happy if the Panamera is replaced in 2015, but then again, a facelift should be skipped this way :D

I suspect that the facelift will be limited to elements such as bumper areas, rocker covers, head and taillamp graphics, new wheel and color options etc. With the massive pressure that the VW-Group (now including Porsche) can exert on its' suppliers, I imagine that a facelift via new tack-on/bolt-on components supplied by external sources would be relatively cost effective. It is probable that the sheetmetal itself will remain untouched until the series II car is introduced.

Auto Motor and Sport is a tabloid and one shouldn't trust any word they write without confirming it with other sources. They have a habit to produce factional "Scooop news and CGI" for slow news months.

Centurion:bowdown: Best statement and most true we had for a while on GCF.

And that statement goes for ONE and ALL of the motoring tabloids!;)
