That 3rd brakelight remains an eyesore.

Not crazy about it, but I've come to terms with it for the most part. It's a design element that's trying too hard to be novel as the novelty wears very quickly and you are left scratching your head and asking, "why?"

Now if it was better executed, then perhaps I'd be more forgiving. For instance if they were to make each of the involved vertical slats a small light bar that wasn't connected by that red plastic piece, then perhaps it'd look much better.

An improvement, certainly, but appears to come specifically with the clear lens option? I have nothing against the rest of the styling detail on the 992 - that red light bar at the back looks great.
