Huayra [Official] Pagani Huayra


The Pagani Huayra, named after the Quechua god of wind, Huayra-tata, is the successor to the Pagani Zonda.
Maker of extremely detailed and beautifully built models, Amalgam Fine Model Cars, will very shortly start taking orders for this - a 1/8 scale model of the eagerly anticipated Pagani Huayra.

These images show the Huayra in a number of different colours, including the bare carbon option. The model should go into production during the next few weeks, and will cost £3995. The company, well known within the motor industry, produce hand-built scale models for many leading Formula 1 teams and car manufacturers.

Some info on the transmission:

Xtrac developed its high specification transverse gearbox specifically to meet the needs of car makers producing high performance mid-engine supercars. The Pagani Huayra is the first road car application.

Transverse gearboxes are often found in race cars, and of course are extremely common in front wheel drive road cars, which account for a majority of vehicles on the road, where the engine is also a transverse installation – so the engine and gearbox are in alignment. The challenge for a mid-engine sports car is matching a longitudinal engine with a transverse gearbox. In this configuration, the gearshafts are turned sideways and are 90 degrees to the crankshaft in the engine with power transferred by means of the bevel gears. The advantage is that the gearbox is now shorter in relation to the length of the vehicle, which can be extremely useful for positioning the mass of the powertrain exactly where it’s needed to enhance handling and in adjusting the overall balance of the car for the optimum road holding.

Xtrac has recognised the importance of providing this exclusive sector of the market with a quality product and has applied the same standards of design and manufacture as applied to its motorsport transmissions for which it has a wealth of experience. However, to provide the high levels of refinement required for a road car, the transmission is of fundamentally different design, employing for example helically cut gears and synchromesh on all seven forward ratios. It was important therefore to the success of the project that Xtrac engineers had worked previously on a number of bespoke high performance road car projects. The design philosophy applied to the gearbox has ensured the optimum packaging, weight and efficiency without resorting to exotic materials and expensive and time consuming manufacturing processes.

The 1007 project is a culmination of many years of experience. Xtrac has applied its expertise in motorsport transmissions to a high performance road car, and created a purpose designed transverse gearbox which is unique for this class of vehicle.

Even if the engines sounded like pure fart i'd still take it over all of it's rivals.

Btw is the engine DOHC 4 valve/cylinder or SOHC 3 valve?

If so then I am impressed to see that this is indeed a new engine with 4 Valves DOHC and not the old SOHC 3 Valve engine.

DAMN right! He's lying, and making a PR story out of it.

Still love this car other than the retarted sound and the LEDs in the front, but to me it's quite obvious you will like everything about this car blindly no matter what because the engine is made by Mercedes.
And just because you don't like hearing it, I will keep on repeating I don't like the sound for the next couple of years. In a similar way you spam the BMW forums all the time.

Oh and one more thing: the sound of the engine will only get worse when Ferrari launches the F70. You'll hear from me when that happens, too.
It's a story of what comes around, goes around. And I have an elephant memory for these things.
 
No i have not martin..as the info was not available..but apparently with the US release it was made available..not even i noticed before i posted it here:D

And yes ok klier..he heard the sound of this car before you even knew they were making a new one. And stuck with it.. just so he could spin a false story. Instead of knowing what EVERY car enthusiast knows that turbo cars sound like crap .. and just opt for a different engine option.
But sure believe what you want;)

Love this car blindly? i had huge doubts..i TRAVELED to Geneva to see the damn thing ( yes for only THAT reason nothing else).. so blind love? i think not.
After i saw it..and fell in love ..and you will to when you see it.. you already like it..so your half way there.

The mercedes engine is nothing.. i would hate for MB to take over pagani.. I loved the BMW engined Mclaren. But one can not exactly complain on the engines delivered to Pagani by Mercedes.. its solid mean ass engines. But that being the only reason for me to love the car.. No sir it aint that easy.
For example you probably love the Mclaren F1.. but not so much the wiesmann´s.. both have BMW engines.. but one is just ******* great..setting the engine aside for a moment.
And the Zonda/Huayra..are ******* GREAT..( engine aside )

And about me spamming BMW forums? now a days i tell my opinion..and often leave it at that.. until a new product from BMW is around then i bitch again if i dont like it.
Now i have the benefit of hating on BMW..they release a new car every 4th month.. while Pagani takes a liiiiiitttle bit more time before they come with something new.
So you see..you will become tired yourself.. cause not even you can keep on bitching about the sound until the next replacement..like 15 years from now:D..haha
And btw..is this some kind of payback from your side cause i do not like your favorite car brand? hahaha


When ferrari releases the F70 it will be to the Huayra..what the Enzo was to the Zonda! ;)

Do not forget that i do not think this car sounds especially amazing..but its not to bad..and probably really cool and different irl.
But it is by NO MEANS a Zonda or a CGT epic type of sound!

Wow. I had no idea the car had a transverse gearbox. That is some finesse not embodied by off-shelf part's bin super cars.

I had doubts it's a brand new engine but had to be confirmed..looks like the engine wasn't forced on him after all and he really wanted that jet sound to his new marvel.

OT..i really wish MB would acquire Pagani but leave it as it is..just supply engines and safety systems..absolutely nothing more.

Is great to hear Mercedes are developing carbon fiber strcutures along Pagani, as seems to be the non plus ultra of CF in the world. I mean, just look at that perfect work.

He's such a great guy. I once wrote Pagani Automobili in order to use the Zonda name in one of our guitar models, and HP himself answered me (I even wrote in italian hoping some PR guy will answer me, and HP saw I was from South America and answered me in spanish; how cool! ) telling me he could'nt license the trademark name, but asked me to send pictures of my guitars.

I did it, and then answered again congratulating me for the work and told me if I had an interesting project, Pagani Automobili could build the CF parts for the instruments.Obviously I shited my self all over and was just able to say thanks and nothing else, lol.

That car is all dirty ..even the steering wheel is almost black:)
Its a Prototype..and is used very much for testing and clocking up the miles needed for US homologation..
And also a test car for future updates to the Huayra line:)

Actually is amazing to see the prototype in such good shape. It obvious they make a high quality, durable car.
