With the W214 Facelift incoming i really think it’s a perfect time to introduce an E580 V8 don’t you all think? I mean the GLE Facelift return along with the 580 V8 still, So they should do the same with W214.

Fully agree about the E580, there is currently too much of a gap in power between the E53 and E450 (612PS & 585PS vs 381PS) and the E580 V8 would be a great step in the middle with 537PS and that V8 engine note.

There is a large gap in hp between the two, I agree. But in the past the E550 sold in tiny numbers. It’s another one of those things that sounds nice to offer but in reality is ignored.

Best part about an E580 now is that it would cost as much as the E53 AMG or less but as a V8 since the 63 V8 would probably cost 40k more.

Who said the GLE 580 doesn’t sell well? They would have dropped it if it weren’t selling. It’s a SUV and it’s pretty hard for it to not sell in this crazed SUV market.

Then there should be an E580 as well. What if it’ll sell this time around? Them 63 AMGs are getting way too expensive, The W214 E63 V8 might be 160k when it gets released. So why not offer an E580 with the 537hp M177 EVO from S580?

The E580 will cost as much or more as the prior gen E63. Its not going to be cheap either.
Bare in mind, we're in a huge fuel crisis right now, so who the f#ck would even buy an E580? Cause someone who wants a V8 E class and can afford to fuel it, can probably afford an E63.

$95k isn't cheap lol. Most people in the market for an E-class are not spending $95k just for a de-tuned V8, with the hopes of voiding the warranty to tune it to higher power levels, and subsequently file for bankruptcy if there's an issue with it.

The enthusiast crowd are loud, but very very small.

How many people have even $100k to drop on a family car?
Not many at all. So I ask again... who is this car for? A handful of people who can afford to waste $100k on a depreciating asset, but not $140k?

There are definitely more people who'd pay that kind of money for a GLE, but the sedan market just isn't what it was 10 years ago.

Even BMW, who made an M550i in the last generation, dropped that model for the current generation. Its just not worth pursuing.

Yes the M550i is dropped but the i5 M60 is the new M-lite 5 series, do you know how much that costs?

Nobody would care about the E580. Even when sedans were popular, very few E500s sold. Companies are trying to reduce the number of V8-engined vehicles due to emissions. They wouldn't embark on something as pointless as the E580.

Yes the M550i is dropped but the i5 M60 is the new M-lite 5 series, do you know how much that costs?

The E580 would do just fine.

The i5 M60 is an EV tho dawg.
They have an 550e which is a hybrid + B58.
Mercedes has an E53 which sits in the same space - Hybrid + M256.

So no German manufacturer has a non-performance V8 model on offer.
