I hope that the final car will have some flared wheel arches just to separate it a little more in the looks department than the standard AMG kitted E-class.

The one problem with the launch of the E53 expected approx July is the BMW M5 will be launching at more or less the same time, so it may be a little forgotten once super aggressive M5 is shown.

The E53 will be a lot cheaper. But yes.

Given how aggressive the body kit is on the CLE53, I can imagine they'll go just as hard on the E53.

The front and the rear of this car are terrible.. I wish they never had that ugly piano black trim and instead added the classic grill as standard. In the rear tail lamps like of the S class would make this a very desirable executive sedan.

The S is gorgeous.. why’d they funk-ify this so much?

From what you can see in those photos just above, it doesn't seem to have anything widened compared to normal, but I don't know in the end you'll have to see

Yes, it would be funny if at the next (19 hours) BMW presented the M5 as a coup de grace
Likewise, whenever they present it, it will overshadow it from then on.

Can't really tell with that heavily shadowed pic anyway.

It's an E53 at the of the day. It's not aiming to compete with the M5. But yeah an M5 launch will overshadow it, but then when hasn't that happened?

I was thinking about that recently, with the 500E it must be the only time they tied, it's a shame Mercedes didn't repeat all that.

And if the E63 share the same powertrain with the C63, no matter how much the body is widened (which I don't think) it will be even worse.
*It has not widened the C63? or the S63, ....only wheels and/or Panamericana, so I don't bet that with the E

Rumours are no E63 for the time being. Though with the change in stance recently that might change.

Speaking of change, what you say is due to the failure of the C63? Or was it planned from the beginning that there would not be an E63?

Yeah, so that means the c class based CLE will be the most desirable AMG in this segment. What a shame
I don't think people will mind so much, as pretty much all the options will be PHEVs anyway. Even the M550e or whatever.

Like I said. Heavier cars have a higher emissions allowance, which is probably how these companies are keeping big engines around.
