It was supposed to coincide with the new 5 series.

Well, that ship sailed.
So if true that means it’s late by a few months if “late 2023” is indication. I’m trying to see what is so appalling and where the most egregious corporate fail is. Sounds like hyperbolic BS to me.

When you cede a four month lead to your direct competitor because you've designed a car that you can't get parts for, that's pretty egregious. And it reveals terrible corporate oversight and planning. M-B was caught flat footed here and there's really no excuse that minimizes or mitigates this fact. People have been receiving their G60's since December and I see no evidence that M-B is going to be delivering their first W214 to the US until at least April. That's a huge miss and that's not being at all hyperbolic.

The sky is not falling and it isn’t written anywhere that competing cars have to or need to go on sale at the same time. Like I said before you all just want something to crow about. Mercedes will go on just like any other time when they missed a date for introducing a car. An egregious corporate failure is cheating on emissions or some other shit that has the potential to bring the company down. This isn’t that no matter how many times you repeat it and increase the word count. Pushing back new model introduction is not that much of an infrequent occurrence as to be an egregious corporate failure.

Exactly.

Talking about cheating. KBA is conducting an investigation at BMW. BMW X3 diesel engines are checked on shut-down devices (like VAG).

I don't know if the sky will fall, what it seems to me is that they don't even care about screwing up again and again as if they were a start-up, some amateurs.

As much as here want to minimize it, not replacing one of your star products in time is a serious situation for any company, a situation that makes you look improvised.

It also means starting the year and until April knowing in advance that you will have another year running from behind.

That depends on how well they forecasted these things. Which is information none of us are privy to. Cars don't have to launch at exactly the same time as their competitor, or do you think that the new A6 still being in camouflage is an egregious corporate failure too?

If they knew what their supply situation would be and planned around it and have accounted for a delayed NA launch in their forecasts, then this is just business as usual.

Cars don't have to launch at exactly the same time as their competitor,
Cars have a life cycle, that cycle means that Mercedes does not have the W213 or the W214 for sale in the USA, (as I read here) it does not have that key product for sale, it has nothing to do with the competition and its launch, only it will beat you in sales if you do things so badly

At this point it’s like hearing dogs barking in the distance.

I guess if you consider dogs barking to be millions of dollars going into BMW's corporate bank account. To trivialize this corporate misstep is akin to whistling past the graveyard. Say what you will, but M-B is taking a beating here. And it all could have been avoided with better corporate management. But it wasn't....

The one they must be barking at is Ola and if he didn't fill the shareholders' pockets by making cheapened cars they would already be biting him

Nope, I consider reading the nonsense here like hearing dog barking in the distance. Are you really this out of it man? BMW was going to make money no matter when the E went on sale because guess what, BOTH cars will attract buyers. You act like Mercedes' goal is to keep BMW from making money. BOTH carmakers will make money. There is no contest to see who gets their car on sale first and people who want an E will still buy one whenever the car comes out. Graveyard, because one car in their lineup up is coming out few months late? See, just like I said, just ridiculous BS. Show me where they're taking beating. A beating how? Where? Show me the actual affect of the E going on sale in Q1 of 2024 vs Q4 or 2023, lets see it?

Here you go.

Mercedes-Benz earlier this month reported a 4% drop in overall third-quarter sales, with top-end sales down 11%, partly caused by model changeovers and a shortage in 48-volt systems supplied by Bosch.
Car revenue dipped 3.8% due to the fall in deliveries, but the average selling price remained stable, the company said.

Here you go.

This is NOT “whistling past a graveyard”. This type of fluctuation is not something that puts a company out of business nor is this caused by the E, as it says high end sales. I’m want to see the dire straights that constitutes “whistling past a graveyard” or an “egregious corporate failure”. Secondly this article was published BEFORE (Oct 23) the E was even scheduled to go on sale in the USA. It addresses Q3 of 2023 not Q4 when the was due to reach the USA. Like I said before you’re talking about a bunch of nothing. This is not the grave situation you keep saying it is. Period.

I love the wheel design on this car. Its colour is similar to the car in below video, but with different wheels and darker interior instead of white and its a E300e instead of E220d.
