What the F***?! The steering wheel got torn off? That's very disconcerting.

Pretty good actually.

One of my neighbours had a 2010 A6 3.2 Quattro and now I see a brand new A6 3.0T in white on his driveway... My God that car is freaking amazig. What a monster. It has got those full LEDs so when it came up behind me the other day, it looked like something out of this world. Damn... I'm a little jealous, although I know my Q5 feels better in this part of the world :)

Quite true. I was followed by full-LED A6 recently and was totally smacked by the appearance of the headlamps. It looked like something out of a movie.

The A6 in the both videos has Michigan plates and yet the A6 twin-turbo diesel is not available in the Audi USA configurator. Grey import, perhaps?

BMW M550d is a fail IMO. Just extremely overpriced.

BMW M550d xDrive
3.0 I6 Tri-Turbo
381 PS @ 4.000-4.400 RPM
740 Nm @ 2.000-3.000 RPM
1970 kg
0-100 km/h in 4.7 sec
6.3 l/100 km
81.300 €

Audi A6 3.0
3.0 V6 Bi-Turbo
313 PS @ 3.900-4.500 RPM
650 Nm @ 1.450-2.800 Nm
1865 kg
0-100 km/h in 5.1 sec
6.4 l/100 km
56.400 €

^But in reality is the gap between them as much as 0.4s and this is with the current 3.0 V6 Bi-turbo because it's eqipped with the electric turbo the likelihood is that the A6 will be the quicker of the two....... EVERYWHERE.

That A6 3.0 TDI BiTurbo is seriously fast. And yeah, that M550D is so freaking expencive, and as Levi said, a fail.

Really?
I've only seen one comparison (Autoexpress) between 535d and A6 Bi-turbo and 535d turned out to be the fastest one. Unless you have more comparisons ,its pure speculation from your side.

Audi A6 3.0 BiTDI /BMW 535d M Sport

0-60/30-70mph: 5.6/4.8 secs 5.5/4.7 secs
30-50mph in 3rd/4th: 2.5/3.1 secs 2.0/2.6 secs
50-70mph in 5th/6th/7th: 3.8/5.2/6.5 secs 3.6/4.5/5.7 secs

Automotossport did a comparison between 535d and 550d and here is the result:

BMW 535d
- Engine: 313 hp, 630 Nm/1500 rpm, max. turboboost: 2,25 bar
- 0-100 km/h: 5,6 s
- 0-200 km/h: 21,9 s
- Flexibility in 8th gear (80-120 km/h): 10,6 s
- Minimum/average fuel consumption: 6,4/9,4 l/100 km
- Basic price: €57.500,-

BMW M550d
- Engine: 381 hp, 740 Nm/2000 rpm, max. turboboost: 3,0 bar
- 0-100 km/h: 5,0 s
- 0-200 km/h: 20,1 s
- Flexibility in 8th gear (80-120 km/h): 10,0 s
- Minimum/average fuel consumption: 7,0/11,2 l/100 km
- Basic price: €80.800,-

550d might be pricey compare to 535d but remember both Xdrive and M-package is included in the base price. Add those options to 535d and the price gap is getting smaller.

I think, we need more tests. this 4.4 sec to 60 mph looks much better than 5.0 s to 100 kph 550d (best results of the tests).

Problem with videos like the one above are done at different times. Its not a head to head comparison where both cars are tested in same conditions. So far, Autoexpress is the only carmagazine with a true head to head comparison. Until more direct comparisons are made we can only guess and speculate which car is quicker but so far there are no evidence that A6 is quicker than 550d or 535d.

Who cares which is faster? The problem is that the M550d is extremely overpriced for what it offers, a bit like Maserati, but without prestige.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
