S-Class (W222/C217/A217) [Official] Mercedes-Maybach S600 (X222)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class. Body styles: W222 (standard), V222 (long), X222 (limousine, Mercedes-Maybach), VV222 (pullman), C127 (coupé), A217 (convertible). Predecessor: S-Class (W221). Successor: S-Class (W223). Production: 2013–2020.
Late to comment, looks mighty fine as expected, just not a fan of the pillar in chrome, looks a bit like some gypsy would've added some aluminium folio for that extra bling.

Also not really liking the visible exhaust pipe trend that entered this class after the e38, W220 and D2 IIRC. Just think hidden ones would suit this segment better, or at least an option of having them hidden.

Any idea of the pricing difference compared to a "normal" S-Class?

According to the latest rumor emerging from MB Passion both the Mercedes-Maybach S 500 and the Mercedes-Maybach S 500 4MATIC may come standard with the nine speed 9G-Tronic automatic, while the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 may likely retain the reinforced 7G-Tronic, suitable for the broad torque curve with up to 1000 Nm, starting from low rpms in the 6 liter V12 biturbo engine.

Guys, is it only me or anyone else too felt that the Beemer behind should have been avoided in this pic.

All pics in this set look very amateur as well.

The kidney grill looks curious. It looks in the increase like one large one and not two small. Or I'm wrong?

Obviously they had no time to fix the fault or just didn't care and PS'ed it like WTF a Bimmer 5er in the background of a benz official pic?o_O I guess Mercedes-Benz China was responsile for this official shooting, but they paid some people with bad skill for saving the remaining money into his/her own pocket.what do you expect,it's China.

Frankly, I felt that this pic is not a proper photo shoot, but photoshop job. Maybach is shoot in some German studio and pasted to the Chinese background. But even then why a Beemer in background, that to a 5er, they could have added some direct rivals if they intend to show where this model to be placed. And seriously I felt even if they wanted to have another brand in the pic, that shouldn't have done a nose/grille job.

That's not a beemer. It looks like a Buick.
I don't think it's that bad...it's not a MB competitor.

No wonder Mercedes launched Maybach brand in China.

Study says Mercedes owners in China are wealthiest, Infiniti's are poorest

I just checked it out and then I scrolled down to check the comments, and one of them is hilarious:

Volvo owners have the highest education level among all these premium brands whereas Land Rover owners are the lowest. Shockingly, for all negative news (road rage, street racing, maliciously showing off wealth) reported by Chinese media involving owners of these brands, BMW owners accounted for nearly 70%, whereas Volvo owners have almost zero. Generally, BMW, Land Rover and Cadillac owners in China have extremely negative image.

^^Well... the more info that comes out on it, the more it seems like to me that it's just an extra quiet, leather clad S-class with and extra reclining seat. I mean, yes, it does come with a few new and exclusive maybach only features like the voice enhancing speaker, and the tinting sunroof. I really want to like it since it has the maybach name, but other than the features that have already been released, I don't really see any other difference between that and the regular S-class with executive seating.

Hilarious,but true.

Let's compare, then, both with Executive Seating in porcelain / black leather w/ sunburst myrtle brown trim. :)

Not a fair photo comparison. The regular LWB can also come with 4-place seating as the Maybach is shown here, where the middle rear console is added. Also, the regular LWB can be had with the diamond pattern leather. These two are the primary factors that make the Maybach version more luxurious (not accounting for the extra 8 inches, of course).

^ OK, added First Class Seating / Executive Seating Plus and Exclusive Nappa leather to compare. :)

As infantile and immature as I am, the spiraling speakers and the interior tech would be about 70% of the reasons why I would buy it in coupe guise. But for the maybach guise, I'm going to have to look at it like an amg version and not a true maybach. But I did see the video, and it has a MASSIVE amount of rear room.

S65 is still the most desirable to me. But I'm certain there'll be demand for an s65 Maybach.

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
