I think that I get this. However, isn't that a bit complicated in the context of attracting the precise scrutiny of tax authorities ? We are talking about a very large, very expensive and very luxuriously appointed vehicle as an "asset" that may be construed as being "far too lavish".

Maybe things are a bit different in Switzerland than in Germany.
It’s an S-Class after all.

I don’t know how they do it in Germany, but in Switzerland it’s exactly as I described it.

95% are leased that way according to my dealer.

It’s an S-Class after all.

Here in Germany, what is under the hood influences the equation. Sometimes very considerably.

But not only that. The interpretation by tax authorities as to whether a vehicle is a " justified, appropriate asset" or an "inappropriately lavish asset" can play a significant role.

Though it was a “wife” movie, I was awestruck back in the day when the original movie had one of the first of countless film scenes with the W221 in early 2006. The silver is a nice homage for car nerds to the Iridium Silver W221 with pano roof (which was a novelty then) used in the original film. The W221 owned the segment in the US from the 06-09’ period - a marvel upon debut.

The night series model is gorgeous.

I like the blackened out lower intakes, which makes the Maybach emblems not so noticeable and the darkened chrome on the grill and rear trim looks fantastic.

The night series model is only available in these limited colours which is a pity you cant choose this trim with all colours.

Personally I like the Nautical Blue, Graphite Grey and the 2tone Obsidian Black Metallic and mojave silver.

I checked the Manufaktur colors, there’s currently no pure silver available.

The Hightech silver has a blue touch especially if the sun shines.

Brilliant silver is a nice color as well.

With Nautikblau I prefer the chrome, but with the night series opalith Weiss looks almost perfect.

It's a brilliant move to capitalize on the film's success; the first one was an unexpected hit, and its status as an "iconic" film only amplified it. The fact that this Maybach's launch coincides exactly with the release of the film saga is a stroke of luck you absolutely must take advantage of.

I have been playing around with the Maybach configurator and the number of Manufaktur exterior colour and leather colour options is endless, but the biggest disappointment for me and I think something Maybach need to address for their models is the limited number of trim choices, they only have 5 different trims of wood and all of them are the same as in the regular S-class. I think its pathetic for a bespoke car costing over 250K Euros. Bentley have so many different types of wood and metal surfaces to choose, makes this look really cheap in comparison.

So if you choose an unusual leather colour like I did with the Corn Yellow with Black there is nothing really suitable from the wood trim that makes a perfect match.

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
