I like the V12 Maybach badges and the changes of the interior, the such as this gold inlays on the black wood.

It would have better if they could also include this inlay on some brown wood instead of shiny black wood.

The seat patterns should also be changed it looks the same as the standard S-c;lass with diamond shapes.

This green and black manufaktur car certainly looks eye-catching, but this interior in the tan brown looks spectacular.

Maybach is a marketing success. Even if some disagree, that's the case. I'm sure BMW is watching enviously. That's why they'll be using the Alpina.
I am not so sure. I think high residuals for Alpina cars, heavy individualisation by RR customers and their willingness to pay a premium for reskinned models is what inspired BMW to buy Alpina. There is a huge gap between BMW and RR that can be filled by Alpina models that maybe look a little bit different from BMW cars.

If that's the case, why did they bother acquiring Alpina?
To compete on equal terms with the successful Maybach trim, I don't see the mystery, since they always manage to compete and emulate each other if they have any success, except in the cases of Mercedes launching competitors to the Rolls Royce and Mini

More nonsense from Mercedes fanatics.

When BMW bought Rolls Royce, Mercedes hastily revived the Maybach brand, produced Mercedes-like cars based on the W220 S-Class, and demanded ten times the price of the S-Class. Nobody bought these monster cars, and they lost hundreds of thousands of euros on every car sold, eventually shutting down the brand in 2012. BMW, on the other hand, wrote a success story with Rolls Royce. This is a huge source of envy for Mercedes.

Rolls Royce was a prestige brand before BMW bought it.

Yeah they did a good job stewarding the Rolls Royce brand, but despite shared ownership a Rolls Royce is not a BMW.
People don't buy Rolls Royces because they're made by BMW.

Let's leave all this fanboy bullshit out of it.

BMW has bought Alpina precisely because there is a massive gap between BMW and RR as brands. Alpina exists to bridge that gap in the same way Maybach does for Mercedes.

For Mercedes fans, the only model left to boast about is the G-Class, as all other models have failed. They can't even praise the S-Class anymore, because it's filled with low-quality and noisy plastics. :)

Yup all them INEOS Grenadier, BMW XM & Currently the Defender OCTA got nothing on the G.
From Chat GPT, just the way you like it:

"Land Rover Defender sales are booming, reaching record highs with over 115.000 units sold globally in FY2025"

That's compared to the G-Class's 50,000 units which is huge, but even so, you're quite wrong in your unsubstantiated assertions.

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
