Good find.
Good find.
It's amazing how SUVs are fast becoming the new standard for the high-end luxury market. The Volvo is a great looking vehicle .....they've given it the Rolls-Royce treatment with that Louis XV-style diagonal grain veneer we first saw in the Wraith. When I look at the back seat from this angle it looks really unappealing, it's not a very nice piece of design, in fact it's really quite a mess, there's far to much going on. It's a pit the olvo and LWB RR came out after as they could show Mercedes how to do it properly.

Hi Wolf,Head of interiors Hartmut Sinkwitz and Martin Hülder talked a bit about individualisation in this expert talk from Geneva. They don't mention much about the Maybach Manufaktur, where essentially the craftsmen hand assemble the interiors from individually selected and eye matched hides for each vehicle, before supplying it to the assembly line. But they do explain a bit why it makes sense to contract with Brabus for the Pullman, since Brabus has been involved with customisation of AMGs, to accommodate exclusive customer demands. They mention many options are available, "anything goes" and one can well supply one's own leather, if so desired. Don't look for this option on some configurator or some such, though.

Thanks again WolfgangMany of the craftsmen working in the Maybach Manufaktur building the W240 Maybachs are now crafting the Mercedes-Maybachs, Rob. For example the seats with the free floating backrests are assembled there. AMG does offer a customisation service, but for some advanced options, they have been cooperating with Brabus for quite some time, as Hartmut Sinkwitz mentioned in passing. The restoration of classic Mercedes-Benzes is handled elsewhere, by the Classic Center, which is part of the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Brabus does more than extending the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class to Pullman length. They are also fully involved with the interiors and electronic customisation options, among others. And even the Maybach Center of Excellence still exists, at the same location. Der Landgraf recently took some pics for us. Speaking of architecture, visiting there, always reminds me of Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona pavilion.
Well that seems reasonably realistic.according to Andreas Binder, sales target will be in the 3 digits
