About the rear, I'm loving it.

I love it to. One thing tho, are those LED's? From this view it looks like the clear lens has LED's, but the red lens does not. However, I can't really see behind the red lens like I can see behind the clear, so I don't know if the whole rear light assembly has LED's or not.

Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks.

This is all the AMS article mentioned about the rear lights on the new W204. And it didn't say anything about LED's. I'm sure MB is using LED's on the new C however. Everyone else is using this technology or beginning to use it.

18:50 CET is 6:50 PM Central European Time.

Right now, it's 4:31 PM over here - and I live in Central Europe!

Here in Toronto it is 6 hours difference (it's 10:45am here and it's 4:45pm in Frankfurt). That means it will be at 12:50pm Toronto (New York) time right?

I just want to make sure so I can watch it. Thanks.

Mmm, this new C is starting to look really really handsome. All the initial negative commentary and misgivings around the interior are unfounded really. I think it looks terrific.

So far the rumoured engine stats show the conventionally fuelled gasoline V6's. I was hoping for CGI direct injection to be honest... Oh and that the Kompressor 1.8 litre 4 pots would be replaced by (logically!) 2.0 litre turbos. So, whilst the looks have got me all chivvied up, the engine line up leaves me uninspired barring the two top-line models.

GDI is a trademark of Mitsubishi Motors.

CGI is DCX.

What do you mean unfounded? Better quality pic's isn't going to change the American styling cues! I stated away's back, if you de-badged the new C-Class know one would believe it's a German car, yet a Mercedes!

I'm guessing you're referring to Beemer Boi's post, so let me tell you this: He's definitely not a hater, but a person with classy blend of insight into the motoring world. Has a great knowledge about cars, he's not a fanboy or hater, but a very valuable member of this community who just stated that certain things from C's interior have some resemblance with some other cars. No hate, no bashing, just his opinion to which he's entitled to...

I got a note from MB that they are going to stream the intro of the new C LIVE at 18:50 CET...anyone know what that time is for the US in Eastern Standard or Pacific Standard time?

Don't think so. I think that the clear part has LED but the red one does not - at least not in this segment (C, A4, 3-er). They might be using the similar trick as BMW so the lights want to look like LED but are really not. I'm not to excited about this too but hey, what can you do.

I personally believe that there's a lot of over-reaction regarding the interior styling. I'm not singling out any individuals but will rather comment on the overall theme of discussion. Comments like "there's too much black plastic" or "it looks American" (whatever that is by definition) are purely subjective. Since when was a black dashtop a bad thing? Too much of it? Heck most of my favourite colour choice combos would include an all black interior.

The C-Class' interior has never resembled those of its Teutonic competitors' and that trend remains - this is every bit a typical Mercedes Benz interior: solid-looking with conservative styling and just a little bit of switchgear and button clutter. I don't think there's any identity crisis here at all - get in and you'll know instantly that you're in a Mercedes Benz is what I'm expecting.
