It appears to me as though MBs´ design department headed by Peter Pfeiffer took a more conservative approach with the W204 as opposed to the W221 S-Class or the C216 CL. Not bad, mind you... But simply nothing that appears patently eye-arresting.

Perhaps intentional, as the MB C-Class is particularly popular with the 55+ age group in its´ home market.

The interior is looking better and better everytime I see it. The plastics look really HQ and the design is growing on me.

No problem. Working on the translations right now. :t-cheers:

Welcome to the forums BTW. I see you're in der Schweiz. Do you speak German by any chance? :D

My local Benz dealer said he'd be getting new W204 C-Class brochures on January 18: tomorrow. I can't wait to get one and scan some better quality images. Also, I hope to testdrive a W204 real soon!

Yes, I do live where they make the best chocolate in the world. But I grew up where the make the best cars (and if you call Swabian German, then, yes, I do speak German). And I occasionally drive to where they play the best football (and where you seem to live). I do not watch the FCB, though, but the TSV 1860, my old love and worry.

I can't wait so see pics form the brochure your MB dealer pomised you for today!

Thanks again for all the AMS pics - and this forum really rocks!!!

Super! I love chocolate, especially LINDT! :D

The brochures will have to wait I am afraid. My dad is out with the car and we have a storm down here, so I'll probably be picking up a brochure later tonight, or tomorrow. :(

And yep, GCF rocks! :eusa_danc

Re: First Official 2007 C Class W204 Pics, Cont'd Thread 5.

I hate to bring up all the chit-chat about the interior again but I found something which seems a little worrying.

Now please don't flame me, and please don't think I'm just here to attack the new C-class. This observation I've made was something I stumbled upon and I couldn't believe the uncanny resemblance between these 2 cars.

Look at the pics below and you'll see what I mean.

The 2nd, 3rd and 4th pics are of the Audi A3's interior, and to my eyes I see more than a few similarities.

A - Both cars have very similar designs here. It's more an Audi trademark with that simple wood piece surrounded by a chrome lining, but MB has adopted it to the C.

B - The up-sweeping design here is similar to that of the A3, as well as the 5er.

C - Very similar shape and design with that door storage space. The only thing I see different between the C and the A3 door design is that shape of the speakers. Ofcourse quality wise it's a different story, but I'm talking purely design wise here.

D - A similar shape to the centre console. Just try and take the round air-outlets out of your mind and it seems rather similar.

E - Another similarity between the two. They both have the glovebox sitting 'below' the upper dash with minimal space for some trim.

Again.. not trying to take a shot at MB, just trying to show you guys what I saw.

What do you guys think of these similarities?

This is not a flame just a response.

The door panel pocket upward sweeping thing was found on previous generation C class and on other MB models:

The glovebox design that sits below the dash is found on the A, B, ML, R, And GL.

The Chrome trim around the wood trim was actually started by MB with the E class.

I'm guessing you're referring to Beemer Boi's post, so let me tell you this: He's definitely not a hater, but a person with classy blend of insight into the motoring world. Has a great knowledge about cars, he's not a fanboy or hater, but a very valuable member of this community who just stated that certain things from C's interior have some resemblance with some other cars. No hate, no bashing, just his opinion to which he's entitled to...;)

Ok? :usa7uh:

Mixed feelings here... Must stare at it for a while to make some judgements...

Thanks, man! Great post!:usa7uh:

edit: I can comment immediately on the rear:

Wrong and just wrong! Even with AMG package... Sorry... Just like the 3er sedan btw...Wrong!

Thanks for this picture. I think the rear looks quite good. Not great like the front. But don't most cars have this problem these days? I think 99 percent of the cars with great fronts have rears that disappoint by comparison. I don't know why that is, but I have been observing this for a while. Given that, I am quite happy with how the new C looks from behind, though I also feel they might have done better.

Re: First Official 2007 C Class W204 Pics, Cont'd Thread 5.

Hmm, it looks a bit short and stubby in the pics... hopefully it will look a bit leaner and meaner in the metal. Overall, a nice car nevertheless. :usa7uh:

Re: First Official 2007 C Class W204 Pics, Cont'd Thread 5.

OFFICIAL PHOTO'S!

Overall I'm still a little skeptical about the New C, however I've got to say the rear looks much better than I thought it would.

Thanks man :usa7uh:

Re: First Official 2007 C Class W204 Pics, Cont'd Thread 5.

This picture of the side of the C looks classy. I don't know why, but it looks REALLY classy!! I LOVE IT!! :usa7uh:

Front looks great!! :usa7uh:

I even like the rear end. :usa7uh:

And lastly, the interior is growing on me, so that means, I like it. :usa7uh:

So overall, I give it TWO THUMBS UP. Nice job Mercedes!!! :usa7uh: :usa7uh:
