It seem as though Mercedes didn't feel that Button was instrumental to the success of Brawn in 2009, and it's partially true because during the first 7 races it was the car that drove him and not the other way around. But damn it much suck be be dumped like that, and be sign with another man's house -- Lewis Hamilton GP.

Here's a mockup that's been published by Mercedes GP:

If it was indeed Mercedes's call and not Brawn, they are already repeating past mistakes. The best thing they could do is let Brawn run things.

The paint scheme looks fantastic.

I think the contrary, I firmly believe that Ron Dennis making all the decision and Mercedes having no word on nothing explains the relatively poor results.

Now that Mercedes has the say in the team, I think the the Silver Arrows will shine again like they always have in the past when Mercedes did run as they wanted to.

Yes, exactly just look at what Mercedes did when they completely took over the Ilmor opperation, they now have the most sought after engine in the paddock. However Brawn does know what he's doing as well with the 5 or 6 chapionships under his belt for Ferrari.

So you are questioning the competency of the person under which McLaren became the second most successful F1 team? Most of which had nothing to do with Mercedes. He might be a slime ball, but give the devil his due.

Won't happen, he just extented the partnernship with the road divison. As for Brawn, he has on the contrary carte blanche to run the team the way he likes, thus why he offered a12 millions contract to button but the WDC very strangely prefered Macca, and Brawn is so much pissed that he refused to release him from his contractual restrictions.

Schumi joining Mercedes is pure fairytale rumours. First of all Brawn GP has only had 1 successful year and was under the second half of 2009, not the fastest team. Ferrari and Schumi are for ever tied together, both entities love each other. There is no way in the world he would join Ferrari.

+1

this Schumi comeback thing will never die down. believe me, this guy is done with F1. It's just too competitive for him to make a comeback, plus, with his neck condition, it's not gonna help.

Ross Brawn will still be team principal and be in charge. I doubt Merc will decide who drives for them, sure they'll be pushing for an all German lineup, but definitely they won't be involved in choosing the drivers. Ross is too smart for that. He'll walk away, if things doesn't go his way.

Having said that, i really hope Quick Nick will be signed up for Mercedes. He deserves a top drive.

Kimi being out of F1 is completely of his fault.

Can't agree more. He talks about driving for a top team. Well, Ferrari are a top team. IMO, he's just lazy, and lost the hunger, which i think it's a shame. If he really wants to be serious about another WDC at least, he could have taken up teh drive at Mclaren, or even Mercedes/Brawn.

I think he's gotten greedy.

Apparently the other Merc GP driver will be presented before the year-end. I strongly believe it will be another German. Heidfeld is probably on top in the speculations. Räikkonen also said that while he had negotiations with them, he got an impression they want to have an all German driver lineup.

On the other hand Jabba Haug said the other driver will surprise people and that the readers of Bild am Sonntag will be pleased. Some wild speculation: Schumi? Or perhaps they've been able to buy out either Vettel or Glock from their current contracts with Red Bull and Manos respectively? Sutil is probably the least expensive choice...

Vettel won't leave Red Bull. He's very comfortable with the team. What will make him leave is if the team fails to repeat this years success in 2010. That's when Vettel will either go to Ferrari or Mercedes. MB are in this to win and if they are to clinch one or two championships, they will need to to drivers.

Although Rosberg is good, Vettel is the second driver MB truly wants. He's young, German and is very solid driver. Forget Schumi, he's not coming back, especially not to Mercedes. Therefore MB will likely sign someone like Heidfeld and Sutil who both would both welcome a 12 month contract just to in a silver arrow car.
