I know there will come a day when I check on this thread and find leaked promotional pics and specs of the S 63 E Performance. Hopefully before the facelift.

When will that day come? I have been hoping for this for past year. It makes no sense why S63 hasn't been released yet.

I’ve read some rumor, that the W223 facelift (MoPf) gets the hyperscreen. Given the layout of it’s current dashboard, I don’t find that hard to believe.
PS if it will be an extra or standard equipment I don’t know.

How are they going to wedge that in ? I hope it gets a new shape to match the interior at least.

More or less in the same way as MB does with the EQS, I guess. Because W223 doesn't has a hood covering the driver's display, I reckon it's not too complicated to fit the hyper screen. I think it even fits just under the air vents of the current W223. The trim on the dashboard will be gone coming Mopf-time.

In the EQS the screen is kinda rounded and moulded to the shape of the air vents/dash ? If this is really coming to the S they'll either need a new screen shape, or they'll have to make changes to the dashboard.

I'm sure, given the current management, they'll go for the cheapest solution, not necessarily the best from an engineering point. Maybe a new screen shape? Time will tell, Luke.

I've always suspected the S would get its own version of the Hyperscreen. The dashboard architecture actually lends itself to that set up IMO.

If unveiling is by the end of year, then I wonder when actual deliveries will be? Probably summer of next year. I don't understand Mercedes' timeline anymore.

Me neither. Pre-pandemic their launches were already oftentimes riddled with delays and limited availability of options. Nowadays things are exponentially worse.

The MB.EA platform will start in 2025 with the all-electric C-Class and the all-electric GLC. They are built in the plants in Bremen and Kecskemét, Hungary.

The Mercedes plant in Sindelfingen would like to apply internally for the construction of the MB.EA-L derivatives and sees itself in a good position to be awarded the contract. In this case, MB.EA-L stands for Large. So these are the big vehicles on this platform.

The MB.EA platform differs in medium size vehicles (such as C-Class and GLC) and large seats (MB.EA-L e.g. the S-Class)

So the W223 will be remembered as the last ICE S-class model and will probably become sought after in years to come. The FL model due in 2024 will probably be the best models to have if they dont mess up the styling with the FL.

That and the facelifted W222 will be sought after. I don't know about you, but I hear through the grapevine, that used W222 are very wanted in the secondary market.

More photos and review coming soon, but after a week… I must say I’m pretty darn impressed with the W223. Not what I was expecting following my initial take S on the car, but it is a S-Class after all.

Most of the nitpick complaints I’ve read on forums are anecdotal to the overall drive experience.

I have fallen in love with this generation S. I’ve seen the C a few times and you can’t tell them apart on the road until you get right up on it. It’s like the W140 and W202 all over again. Both are great looking cars.
