Interesting, looks a bit like the new BMW 7 series separating the light; for various reasons one of which to get around the rules and laws of some countries regarding projections?

I've just made a longer trip with my wife's sister W223. Part driving , part right seat. And this are my toughts:

1.Not a huge difference between W222 and W223 in terms of driving. I mean , ride quality .

2.I was expecting Distronic to be better. Still is laggy and slow. I used Distronic on W222 for years , and now AP on Tesla , and Tesla's AP is years ahead of Distronic.

3.Tech is nice. HUD is nice , but can disturb you after some time. 3D effect on the dash is also kind of disturbing after some time

4.After over one year of ownership , 0 issues with it . And this is great.

5.Headlights are good. But I find BMW's better ( laser lights )

Good car. But given the fact that I drove W222 for almost 7 years and over 200000km , it did not make a big difference .

I felt like gearbox could have been a little better . MBUX is cool , but lack of internet makes it useless for entertaining purposes.

Interesting feedback. What variant is your W222 and your SIL's W223? Are the wheel sizes the same and are they comparable in other respects?

I honestly find the W223 a decent step up from the W222, particularly in terms of road noise and the seamless operation of the driver assistance systems. I have never once had the clench my butt cheeks when coming to a stop in the new S.

With respect to ride, sports mode is a marked improvement over the W222 in terms of body control and steering precision, without losing any comfort over the 222. This to me is a good outcome.

All just IMO of course.

It's just a brief feedback. Of course it did not ride the car for months to make a proper feeling.

Regarding wheel size , 20inch. Same on W222.

My expectations regarding W223 did not got too high. My only expectations I had was : Better driving systems ( and not felt much of a deal ) , And headlights to be "wow" , because the marketing hype was sooo big about them. Auto High beam , for example , on BMW X6 G06 beats the hell out of W223 , IMO

Also , the fact that MBUX does not come with internet connection by default , it's a huge drawback .

And that HUD is pure gimmick at this point. Maybe they will get an update to make it work with CarPlay/Android Auto , but I doubt it...

But , at the end of the day , it's still an S class. Good car.

BTW, this is the first S class I saw with the bonnet properly aligned . But the dash is still a miss ( same thing I had in my W222 ; dash line is not continuous from door to dash )

My favorite angle of the S. Really captures how the C-pillar flows down to the rear haunches and then cascades down over to the rear lights and then down to the bumper.

While I am more convinced about the triangular rear lights, I am still not a 100% convinced it was the best way to go.

I know there will come a day when I check on this thread and find leaked promotional pics and specs of the S 63 E Performance. Hopefully before the facelift.
