Yes, it would be the SWB, Jimmy. I don’t need the extra rear space and a length of 5,30 meter is getting a bit big for the Netherland.

I think my all time favorite color from Mercedes' past (along with Brilliant Silver) was Desert Taupe:

They need to bring this color back, hell just charge more for it.

Why is anything an option on this car? I mean S680, fully loaded Maybach... What options??

True, but on such car, an E-ABC is optional? To pay more than 7k € for that? Isn't this car all about comfort and luxury and should be offered as that from the very beginning? Options for a special wood trim or leather i understand, but regarding drivetrain, chassis features and everything else, that must be included from the beginning. Imo of course...

It really doesn't matter what the option is, they're doing the same thing Rolls and Bentley do when they charge you for a better sound system, that's on a $250-300K car. The options are where the fat profits are.

The new Mercedes S 580e is characterized by phenomenal data, a plug-in hybrid has never been so electric

• 150 hp electric motor
• Recuperation power 163 HP - so you get a lot of kinetic energy back into the battery even if the battery is not charged
• 28.6 kWh battery (larger than some all-electric cars)
• 11 KW on-board charger (3-phase)
• 60 KW DC CCS fast charging option
• The S580e becomes a 1-liter car: the S-Class therefore only consumes 1 liter per 100 km with regular charging
• Trunk without an annoying step
• For the first time available as a short and long version
• For the first time also available as a 4matic all-wheel drive version

Electric motor with 150 hp
The fourth generation of the hybrid drive will premiere in the S-Class in 2021. With an electric drive power of 110 kW / 150 PS and a purely electric range of around 100 kilometers (WLTP) , this S-Class will in many cases be on the road without the use of the internal combustion engine. The electric range will more than double compared to its predecessor. The basis of the hybrid drive is the highly efficient M 256 six-cylinder in-line engine with 270 kW / 367 hp from the current generation of engines from Mercedes-Benz AG.

The high power density of the hybrid drive head is achieved with the help of a permanently excited internal rotor synchronous machine. The maximum torque of the electric motor of 440 Nm is ready from the first engine revolution and results in a high level of agility when starting off and dynamic driving behavior. The full electrical power is available up to 140 km / h and is then softly regulated.
This fourth generation hybrid system can be modularly combined with different vehicles and combustion engines.

Very usable trunk - no more step
Compared to its predecessor, the arrangement of the battery in the vehicle has advantages in everyday life: The luggage compartment no longer has a step and offers a through-loading facility. The rear axle, which is 27 mm lower than that of the other S-Class vehicles, also contributes to the larger luggage space. A particularly flat tank (capacity: 67 liters) under the rear seats ensures the high level of comfort of the adjustable rear seats.

The order release for the S-Class as a plug-in hybrid will take place at the end of June 2021.
