S-Class (W222/C217/A217) [Official] Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class. Body styles: W222 (standard), V222 (long), X222 (limousine, Mercedes-Maybach), VV222 (pullman), C127 (coupé), A217 (convertible). Predecessor: S-Class (W221). Successor: S-Class (W223). Production: 2013–2020.
Absolutely love it. This car is the most magnificent car on the road (especially if you build her right). Even hand build exotics don't excite me anymore after driving this baby for a while. I have NO interest in a Bentley anymore.

Kratos, I saw an S-class with your color combo today! It looks fantastic. I'm ashamed I advised you against it earlier. So glad to hear you're loving your car!

On a side note, I canceled my W222 order. I went with something much uglier but much more exciting to drive, a Panamera Turbo. It's vulgar. Black with red/black interior. You can drive it like a madman or take people out to lunch and its equally comfortable. The S63 was fun but was still much too reserved for me at the end of the day.

On a further side note, I also drove a Quattroporte GTS and it is a sweet car. However, the price makes the S-class look like a bargain. The Maserati is missing features that are found on cars selling for $100k less. It's crazy.

Thanks. I'm sure you're gonna love your Panamera! My billionaire uncle has one, and it looks awesome in black.

^ that is a $500k vehicle, so a $300k premium over the regular model. I doubt there is a market for $450k electric s class out there. Certainly not in enough numbers to change pretty much everything under the skin.

But we should see some cool plug-in hybrids soon.

MERCEDES-BENZ S-CLASS DECLARED

2014 WORLD LUXURY CAR

NEW YORK – April 17, 2014 - For Immediate Release

At a press conference hosted by the New York International Auto Show and Bridgestone Corporation, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class was declared the 2014 World Luxury Car.

This is the first year for the World Luxury Car award. This new category was created to acknowledge higher-priced premium models selling in more limited numbers worldwide.

This year’s winner was chosen from an initial entry list of 10 prestigious cars from all over the world, then a short list of three finalists:the winner as well as the Bentley Flying Spur and the Range Rover Sport.

It is not only our customers who expect a new S-Class to set standards – but also the journalists," says Prof. Thomas Weber, Member of the Board of Management Daimler AG, responsible for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development. "The success of the S-Class in this category makes us very proud indeed, and once more demonstrates that we have met these expectations."

The World Car jurors observed that, “Mercedes dominates the big luxury sedan market worldwide and the challenge of the sixth-generation S-Class was to be even better than the fifth-gen model. They did it by creating a car so far advanced in this segment that competitors pretty much have ceased trying to go head-to-head with the S. The exterior is completely new and the interior is spectacular on a whole new level”.

Vehicles are selected and voted on by an international jury panel comprised of sixty-nine top-level automotive journalists from twenty-two countries around the world. Each juror was appointed by the World Car Steering Committee on the basis of his or her expertise, experience, credibility, and influence. Each juror typically drives and evaluates new vehicles on a regular basis as part of their professional work.Through their respective outlets they collectively reach an audience of many millions world-wide.

I thought they will change the design.

Mercedes-Benz S600 Pullman spied for the first time, will be 6.4 meters long

Yes, the new meter-longer mule is the Pullman. I do not get how anyone was expecting a different design... it would be pointlessly expensive to do so. It is the S-class Maybach and the S-class Pullman. MB discontinued a Maybach that had its own design.

You might be true with the statement considering the development cost! But Mercedes have the heritage of making a separate design for its high end premium car; eg: 1960s W100 600 Pullman!

Ummm... you do realize this is the S Class thread, and the car you posted is the C Class? Anyways, there was picture of the S Class with these wheels before:
