S-Class (W222) [Official] Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class produced from 2013 to 2020, serving as the successor to the W221 S-Class and predecessor to the W223 S-Class. The W222 has a similar design theme to the C-Class (W205) and E-Class (W213).
Yes he is. This picture caused at riot at work when I used it for my picture in our corporate directory.

After seeing your new Avatar I realised you are the same person as Germancar1 from the other forum. I do not visit the other forum much, but I did visit it today though and you have the patience of a Saint arguing with KA about the 40% Chinese content in the E Class.

Thank God he is not here anymore.

Yes....OMG, can you believe how stupid he is? He doesn't know what he is talking about there either.

I also love it but the problem are the light areas which will realy fast became dirty -

and theres no chance to keep it 100% clean all the time.

thats why my w222 will be all blue inside.

Only the big spot is probably dirt, their is some kind of dark shining in the carpets... Probably to avoid that the carpets immediately look dirty. In my opinion it is a very nice effect...

Some interesting information emerged on one russian Benz forum. Especially interesting for those who is disappointed he must choose between AWD drivetrain and hydraulic MBC suspension. One journalist or so wrote that he had tested new S and talked to Daimler's engineer. And he was told Mercedes is going to test new suspension system this winter. That system is compatible to hybrid and 4Matic vehicles and also would be used on some SUVs. That could be a type of suspension known at this forum as "compact ABC", but could be something absolutely new. Because when the journalist asked whether it will be a hydraulic suspension, the answer was it's a secret.

Maybe ZF and Levant are interested in an "ABC Compact" as well? :)

At the heart of GenShock is a newly designed compact valve that includes its own control unit, electric motor, and electrohydraulic gear pump that mounts to the exterior of a ZF-sourced damper. The oil flow in the damper is regulated to adapt for optimum comfort, safety, and dynamic performance, much like in more-traditional active suspensions. Unlike current designs, however, energy harvesting occurs automatically when the swaying motion of the damper—activated by wheel travel—guides the oil in such a manner that it drives the electric pump motor that functions as a generator. It’s at this point that kinetic energy is converted into electricity, which is ultimately fed into the vehicle’s electric power supply. As ZF points out, the effect is most powerful when traversing significantly battered roadways, something we have no shortage of.

I saw this tech before and asked SCOTT27 if BMW is considering using it in the next 7er. His reply was not straight forward (goes without saying) but he did not deny it. Such a pitty that ABC can't be used universally in the W222 lineup, I am always most fascinated by the worlds most ingenious suspension system, that is ABC/MBC:)

To be unveiled in November at L.A. Auto Show

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG has been caught on camera without any camouflage during a commercial shoot.
The car was spotted in Rotterdam, The Netherlands showing minor differences in comparison to the S63 AMG. Noticeable modifications include additional chrome on the front grille, shiny mesh on the front bumper, different multi-spoke alloys along with the obvious "V12 Biturbo" lettering.
Speaking of V12, the engine will reportedly be a 6.0-liter delivering 630 HP (463 kW) and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. Connected to a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT gearbox, the 2014 S65 AMG should do 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4 seconds. It will allegedly return 20 mpg US (24.3 mpg UK or 11.6 liters / 100 km).
Deliveries are expected to begin in March, following the car's unveiling in November at the L.A. Auto Show.

I am loving the extra bling on the front. Certainly sets the car apart from the "lesser" AMG. Would love to be surprised on the power levels (more than 630 hp). Biggest surprise would be MBC + 4Matic.

Man, each successive version of this car gets more and more scrumdillyumtous than the next...:-)
S63 and S65 are amazing, can't wait for S600 and X-L...
