Could someone be so kind to translate one sentence from German? (Cause I can't. Also I can't understand Google Translator :)) "Wie auch der S 63 AMG als 8-Zylinder erhält der S65 AMG das neue “sehende Fahrwerk” Magic Body Control." This info is taken from MB Passion resource ( http:///2013/07/s-65-amg-ab-januar-2014-bestellbar/) and is referred by one Russian site. That retelling in Russian sounds like S65 will get a 5.5 V8 in base. Is it just wrong translation or... ?

It says, that S65 AMG will have magic body control as well as S63 AMG has it.

With all due respect to Mercedes-Benz and the unquestionable merits (and thus far very impressive order books) of the new S-Class series of cars...

What I personally eagerly await are the W205 C-Class as well as the W213 E-Class. As opposed to a large über-luxury sedan that is primarily intended to navigate and capture the market for chauffeur-driven limousines, the C and E-Class are far more "real world, driver-oriented" automobiles that can command a vastly broader appear. They are the "bread and butter".

Of course, I also eagerly await the presentation of the new S-Class (or will it be "CL") coupe and cabriolet. I am quite confident that they will be visually stunning, technically adept and exceedingly luxurious "drivers'" cars. Oh yes-and not to forget the upcoming R190 GT (aka SLC) offering...

How is it that Mercedes hasn't released pricing to the US yet, and they promise cars to us in a few weeks? Am I the only one from the states that think that this is weird......?

Sept 25 is the date I'm told now, so we should get pricing any day now.

M

What's your guess the MSRP will come in at? I'm hoping 96K, but most feel it's gonna be 99K.

I dunno, hard to say. They've really pushed the car upmarket it seems, I'd bet on 99K. If its any cheaper they'll make it back on the gazillion options now available.

M

Well they need to give me a price soon so I can know what I need to order. Trying to stay in the $117K range...

You gonna negotiate or pay full price?

Oh no, me no buy lol. If I go back to Mercedes it would be the S Coupe/CL whenever they show it.

Oh ok. I need some help from some people buying this new S class in the states. I know people say you can never negotiate a new car in the fall, but I have this feeling that I have a shot. Was wondering if anyone else was gonna try.

Yeah I know what people are gonna say, "If you can afford this car, you don't need to negotiate." But why not, saving is saving no matter how rich you are.....

Have you asked around on MBWorld.org?

I'll try that.....Not sure I'll get much feedback though. I'm on 4 Mercedes forum, and this is the only one that shows expected interest in the new W222.... Weird to me. It was because of my emails and threads to the administration in benzworld that a W222 forum was even started a week ago! Before that, you couldn't find more than 2 threads on the car over there. And they haven't had postings since May!

I have a theory to all of this but it may sound wrong saying it out loud.....but my theory is that most Mercedes owners in the forums (other than this forum) only want to buy them older and used, when the prices are down. So there's no interest in the new flagship yet....

Yeah I dunno what to say about that. Could be that a lot of actual buyers just don't hang out on forums. There are plenty of buyers, but they aren't talking I guess. There has to be a board out there with some insight though, good luck and lets us know what you decide and if you do go with an S-Class post some pics for us here!

M

Definitely buying an S class. If I order, I'll be ordering this week. If I wait till they're on lots (to have negotiating power), I'll buy one in December. I want to order though, but I want to negotiate too.......man, decisions, decisions......
