S-Class (W222/C217/A217) [Official] Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class. Body styles: W222 (standard), V222 (long), X222 (limousine, Mercedes-Maybach), VV222 (pullman), C127 (coupé), A217 (convertible). Predecessor: S-Class (W221). Successor: S-Class (W223). Production: 2013–2020.
Interesting article on the future models above the S class. I am wondering if Mercedes can come up with a car like the W222 that looks a class or two above the arch rivals, what do they have under the sleeve to compete in the Phantom category. If they can come up with a product that is as superior in its class as the S class appears to be in its class, I think they may surely give headaches to the boutique brands. W100 600 still "looks" way better than the new Phantom, Ghost, or Mulsanne imo.

Very interesting & informative video presentation. Wish it was in English!

You can download 'MB Guides' application for Android (not sure if for iOS devices is available), and I think that one is in English;)

" Stuttgart. The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class has taken no less than two first places in the 2013 Automotive Brand Contest: Both the exterior and the interior design received the "Best of Best" award. In addition the jury consisting of world-leading design experts voted the Burmester® high-end 3D surround sound system a "winner" amongst others. The Automotive Brand Contest is organised by the well-known "Rat für Formgebung" (Design Council). The awards will be presented at the Automotive Designers Night which will take place on the first press day at the Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt. "

One thing I don't like is the design of the turn signal repeaters on the mirrors. I am glad MB went away from the current design, but I don't like this one either.

WOW to the video, wish it was english damn!!!!!, this just goes to show the reknown position of mercedes as the ultimate in the car making art, especially the S-class, the worlds oldest car maker is not 'the best or nothing' for no reason, it really is amazing to the extents they go to for developing their cars, the screen at 10:53 georgeous, pure beauty.

Do we have any idea how many units will be produced and shipped to the US per month/year? I'm trying to decide if I want to go ahead and place an order for one now (my dealer has some 1st allocation spots left), or wait til I sit/drive one. I am fine waiting for an order for a few months, but I certainly don't want a long back up wait. It'd also be good to estimate how long it'll take for some slightly used inventory to become available.

Also, any guesses on the cost of the exclusive nappa leather (diamond trim) option? Still has TBD in order guide & dealer doesn't know.

Backing off the EU Configurator, US Spec Magic Body Control costs 66% of MBC in Europe. This would put the Exclusive Nappa Leather at $7,000 USD. Seems like a hefty jump from the premium leather price of $2,100. Thoughts?

Probably just the start of a long list of awards this car is going to win. I can't wait to see the U.S. sales figures.
