S-Class (W222) [Official] Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class produced from 2013 to 2020, serving as the successor to the W221 S-Class and predecessor to the W223 S-Class. The W222 has a similar design theme to the C-Class (W205) and E-Class (W213).
The front is such a disappointment. They could have made at least a little more aggressive and and unique for the s-class.

MB was beaten to pulp when presenting their one and only S-class which tried to stand up from the crowd, the W140. They're doing well in exercising understatement in this class. Aggressive looks are okay for a Porsche Panamera or a Bentley, both made to show off. The S-class is working horse for people traveling in style for large amounts of miles - it shall be representative, not aggressive. Even the CL, as the lest-room-for-the-bug is trying to "keep it calm".

Cause when u look at the front- it looks just like a regular mercedes.

Great thing. Every car afficionado (spel?) will see: WOW, THE NEW S-CLASS! - any envious idiot will think: Oh, just another crappy MB... - I'm sure that was the design goal.

Epecially, the headlights:they are too big, too boring.. The rest is ok. I hope the brand new Cl will have a better face than this...

I guess the headlights had to be large as hell for all the stuff in them. Think about all the technology that's placed there now, including MBC cameras?!

I'm completely convinced that the exterior design is great - it is friendly enough for all the idiots out there - think of burning cars in Germany... and it's modern and sophisticated enough for a potential customers who wants to show class and style (and money... not a surprise that the car is shown in an Airbus Hangar - the (!) airbus hangar of the 380 - the plane that was built to satisfy our middle eastern friends...)

The interior design gives me some headache, especially the Atari Gauges - but I won't judge things anymore by looking on a photograph. There've been way to many cars I condemned on a photo and really liked in real life. Vice versa.

I'll go for the V222 in a year or so when MB has proved that the long delays were for a proven product, not because of technical glitches to be sorted out...

Haters need to create their own thread!

It's time to rejoice and celebrate the new king of luxury cardom.

I think the front is one of the most striking and commanding angles. If that comes in your rear view mirror you know you best get your ass out the way!
lol the headlights look ugly.. and thats a fact.. too big and too boring just like the new sl's lights.... with a stupid look..
the interior , back , side is good..

Kudos to mercedes on this excellent new design! Truly a game-changer.

Staying away from the new Mercedes corporate grille ruining the SL, and others, was definitely the right move. They weren't going to let one bad element ruin their Golden Goose.

Well played, Gentlemen.....
BD

And the headlight treatment that also ruined the SL and CLA, and most likely the GLA.

I don't think the headlights are boring or ugly at all. I have an issue with the R231 SL lozenge-lights but these are far more apt and appropriate on an S-Klasse. I think on the road, all LED-lit up, they'll contribute to massive in-the-tin presence.

The headlights make this car look like the old folks mobile)) Thats why i do not like it... As ive said, the rest is nice.

Sorry! I meant the S lights look amazing, and extremely majestic... I'm glad they didn't give it the SL/ CLA lights.

I cant wait to comfigurate the sh*t out of it on the website

Anyone noticed the new wingmirror design?

The shape of the headlights are designed to Make the grill appear large and authoritative like that of the 600 Pullman. The grill totally dominates the front of the car.

Damn....

Probably my favorite pic of the new S-Classy.

My first impressions:

big like
- the design of the rear (perfection)
- the steering wheel
- the side profile of the rear
- the AMG package

big dislike
- the headlights (sorry, but they just dont fit the car)
- the non-AMG package makes it look like a big E class with different headlights
- the square screen where the gauges are. It looks ridiculous IMHO

Other than that, I like it. But I'm not overwhelmed with the exterior design, especially the front. The rear is perfection. But of course, the car will be the milestone when it comes to technology, and I have big respect for that.

And remember, I have always been a MB fan as well. But I just miss that "something" with this new S. It will hopefully grow on me.

I'll bet anyone here that the first month in the U.S. there will be like 3000 delivered/sold just like the W221 did in its first month. Anyone wanna guess what the sales numbers will be in the U.S. for Sept/Oct this year when the S hits up top, the CLA at the bottom, and the FL E in the middle?

I still can't get enough of that interior. It has the private jet/yacht look to it. Can't wait to sit inside one.

I love it too. Never seen a 2-spoke steering wheel look so good in a modern car. Even the screens work, oh the horror when we all first saw them in that rough test mule!!
