This is clearly the best S-Class since the W126. I just can't wait to try out the coupe.

Kratos, just saw your Aug 27th post on this subject. I see you're getting it specced like previous with the exception of adding MBC and HUD. Are you getting the same interior and exterior color? If I remember correctly, you had a black leather interior which provided a nice contrast to the metallized wood, yes? Or was it the sunburst myrtle?

Yeah this time I'm getting the MBC and HUD. Won't make that mistake again. Also I am getting the same interior (porcelain/black with metalized ash). I think this is by far the most luxurious combination on the 222. It is just draw dropping stunning in person.

I can already see you selling your soon-to-come S when the facelift arrives on the market:D

No, it's not a stealth fighter, it's the new Mercedes S Class

Today I joined Kratos and ordered my 2nd W222. It was a good time to do this for me since only few second hand W222 are available here, what makes my current one quite valuable. The latter is now 13 months old and in the beginning of next year it will be changed by a new similar one for a very reasonable price. At that time my actual car will have around 60.000 km.

W222 Mercedes S-Guard Interior Wrapped in Crocodile Leather

Between making an awesome body kit for the 911 Turbo and tuning the Macan SUV, the Russians at TopCar found time for a Mercedes. It's not just an ordinary Mercedes though. They were commissioned to work on the cabin of the very first W222 S-Class Guard delivered in Russia.

"What's the S-Class Guard?" you ask us. Only the most heavily protected car you can buy, capable of withstanding all sorts of small arms fire and even gas attacks.

Given how tough the S-Guard is, it's perhaps fitting that TopCar's material of choice is the skin of the most resilient reptile on the planet: the crocodile. They've been around for 140 million years and remain relatively unchanged, yet totally relevant from a predatory point of view. This living fossil's skin is also very tough, yet strangely appealing to look at.

TopCar's custom interior combines light beige and a dark blue tone, almost like indigo. It's a classy mix taken to the extreme, as even the floor is covered in quilted leather. Careful where you step! The sea of cow and reptile hides is only interrupted by Mercedes trim pieces, many of them made from a very light shade of wood. When is the last time you saw grab handles or tablet frames that look like they belong in a palace?

In any case, you can check out the S-Guard crocodile interior in our full photo gallery below. Make sure to let us know if you think the Russians have taken Mercedes interiors to the next level.

About the S-Guard

This amazing luxury tank was revealed at the beginning of August. It's official name is the S600 Guard, which hints at the 6-liter V12 engine under the bonnet. This packs 530 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, delivered to the ground using special run-flat Michelin PAX tires that can run for up to 30 km (19 miles) even when damaged. Mercedes says the toughness of the S-Guard is down to a secret new type of steel that's been sandwiched between the body shell of the car and the outer skin. Extra protection comes from layers of aramide and polyethylene elements that stop the occupants from being hurt by fire and incoming shrapnel. The car even has its own air supply in the trunk.
