Well, the dealer that sold me the car has A8 also with LED headlights. And he says that he has also this problem

It is because LED headlights have a gas in it.Or something like this…

But,as cold climate last 2-3 months, it does not bother me that much :)
I am not sure why, but LED itself do not have gas, it doesn't need gas, and it should run much cooler than normal headlights so it shouldn't need venting.

LEDs still require heat sinks for longevity. I'm not sure about the Mercedes setup, but I know Audis with LED headlights have a heat sink and a fan that prevents condensation when the car is on. I'm sure Mercedes has a similar setup, which is why you get the condensation when the car is off (fan isn't running).

Fans inside head lamps? Interesting.

Halogens and xenons produce some heat, so moisture is regularly removed through the vents. LEDs are cooler and produce nearly no heat, so it's interesting how moisture is removed outside the lamp housing. Maybe fans and some heat generators, like Serpens says? Anyone? :)

I found an article that mentions LED headlight cooling back from 2010 if you're interested. There's a few more articles floating around google as well. http://www.ledsmagazine.com/articles/2010/01/led-headlights-available-on-another-audi-model.html

I am still seriously impressed with the new S. At first I thought the wow-effect would cool down after a week or so, but I'm still amazed by how good it looks!

It has a presence on the road that cannot be denied. I think I saw the MBC at work yesterday on one. The car seems to glide where others (including me) bouncing in reaction to the pavement.

Well, have you ever held in your hand an 20W LED? If you don't have a sink and vent it would burn…

Even an 1W LED has to have an HEAT SINK…

Normal Leds don't heat
But Power LEDS do HEAT…and very much...

Amazing cars guys! Congratulations.

@Kratos-TM I've been told that the metalised wood actually glistens/sparkles in the sun. Is that true?

It does change effects depending on the lighting.
It is truly a beautiful site to behold in person. Very luxurious wood. Pictures make it look "flat" and bland. But in person it has depth, a "3D" effect, and a rich tone.

Kratos(y)...I would love to see more and more of your beauty, especially with different ambient light.

I definitely want to do ambient light shots with each color. My wife wants those shots bad. Gonna be tricky though....gotta figure out how to get them just right...

The new S-Class sedan and now Coupe are without a doubt the best looking S-Classes since the W126/C126. Those 560SEL and 560SEC models are simplistic beauty and of such pure design. These new models are nearly just as clean, but more detailed, in a brilliant way. Beautiful German cars if you will.
