Saw my first Brabus W222 850 in the U.S recently, the speedometer is pretty insane.

My question with these super exclusive Brabus' is what happens when the facelift or new model comes out?.... In other words, is deprecation absolutely catastrophic? This new is $300k.

2018 Mercedes-Benz S 560e Bows in Frankfurt

For 2018, Mercedes-Benz offers an updated S-Class plug-in hybrid for its flagship line. The S 560e has an all-electric range of about 31 miles and made its debut this week at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The S 560e’s hybrid drive system combines 367 hp from its 3.0-liter twin turbo V-6 engine with an electric output of 90 kW or an additional 121 hp.

That’s a combined total of 488 hp on tap, which should be more than enough power to scoot the sleek sedan from 0-62 mph in only 5 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz’s third-generation hybrid transmission is based on its 9-speed automatic transmission. Its torque converter, clutch, and electric motor (developed jointly with Bosch) reside in the hybrid drive unit under the hood. Plug-in access is located in the rear of the S-Class on the bumper, just below the right taillight.

Mercedes states that although the battery size remains unchanged, the new lithium-ion battery has an increased rated capacity of 13.5 kWh. It is supplied by the Daimler subsidiary Deutsche ACCUMOTIVE, which also provides battery packs for Smart EVs.

To help drivers get the most out of their posh plug-in, the S 560e gets Eco Assist as standard. The system notifies the driver via a head-up display when it is optimal to let off on the accelerator, when to coast, or when to tap on the brakes for energy recuperation.

Mercedes-Benz says the S 560e’s onboard 7.2 kW charger allows for fast charging of the battery, but did not provide charging times for the plug-in.

Pricing and delivery hasn’t been announced, but we should know more details closer to its estimated delivery date in the late fall or early spring.

I drove the facelift to Frankfurt and back.... a 350 diesel.

Amazing. Took a little time to get used to the new controls for everything but it's such a fantastic car, I really feel like they did they sedan more justice than the coupe with this facelift.

This white one almost fully loaded and the MSRP surpasses $150k. Kind of crazy when you think about... more than any S8 Plus by about $20k, in line with the M760Li pricing, and a few grand more than a base S63.

Segment leader perks? They're selling hot, but it's getting ridiculous.

Comfort headrest used to be included (in the U.S) when equipped with any rear seating package.

You think that is crazy? That's just about the money I paid for my S350d, a 258 hp 6 cylinder diesel... I should move to the USA.

Seeing the Maybach FL with the pre FL, it still seems the pre FL still holds it's own beautifully, imo being the more svelte and flowing styling..but having said that the FL Maybach is growing on me, even with that mamoth chrome bumper:eek:

Different economies is all I can say without going into full economic detail. I tend to forget whatever vehicle prices I post here are a bargain for our EU, Australian, East Asian, South American, etc. members.

Your beloved VATs...

I should move to the USA.

I know a few exporters (Russian, Arab, African) who've bought homes in the U.S to facilitate their auto sales business. Once they find the loophole to the federal law prohibiting new cars being sold for export, they make a absolute killing selling U.S spec cars abroad.

Lot's of people here buy cars from the USA and do gray imports, specially some brands which has distributors who want to become millionaires in one day (Porsche, Jaguar and BMW, for example) Mercedes used to have ridiculous prices, but a couple of years ago they started pricing reasonably and now rule the market. Mercedes now probably sells more cars than all other premium brands combined.

Beautiful!
The S Class is the King of trend.
It all starts and ends with it in the automotive world.

To be honest,MB has a very greedy market strategy in China, there are all V6 engines at launch,no L6's.
