Yep, but in this case I made an exception....see the Allstar list in my sig. The Brooklands is the most elusive car on the planet, still have never seen one!

There has been a Bentley Brooklands sitting in this Bentley dealers parking lot for Months. If you want to see it feel free to come to Bethesda, MD. It's a nice red one too. I think it had a price tage of $326k.

I would think the Bugatti Veyron would be more exclusive then the Brooklands. I wouldn't mind the Bentley Arnage "Final Edition" either. Sorry to see that car go. It (the arnage) is the only sedan I would by over an S-class (Would have been a Rolls-Royce too, but the idea that BMW is behind it makes me not want it).

With the S-class getting all these updates...kinda makes the facelift Maybach look pointless.

LOL....I'm afraid Maybach was rendered pointless when the W221 was presented. The Maybach was clearly superior to the cheap-build-Shremp-era W220, but the W221 put the hurt on it.

Oh, I meant elusive for me as I've never seen a Brooklands...I've seen a Bugatti before...a couple of them in fact. Even passed a Vanquish this morning..now that was a rare one too.

Mercedes is really funny, the issue a press release about the new AMG package and include picture of the current CL.

Knowing full well by "June" (the introduction date noted in the press release) the CL/S-Coupe will be facelifted. Same thing when they paraded that S400 hybrid around in the pre-FL body. Hilarious.

M

This one is a special edition…comes standard with these parts (20' AMG rims, AMG package, special designo colour)!

Edition: "100 years trademark"

Mercedes-Benz Deutschland - Ausstattung & Zubehör - Sondermodell "100 Jahre Markenzeichen"

But this belongs probably to the CL section… :usa7uh: …so end of discussion with this for this thread!

The red paint job is the reason why no happy home has been found for the car. It was the same case here in London with a red Bentley CGT which dusted on the showroom floor for 2-3 months until someone wanted to adopt the bastard. Red is a highly unorthodox colour for a Bentley or Roller.

Nice, but I still it was cruel of them to show an "old" CL at this point...lol.

Very true! I must admit the Bentley Brooklands does look nice in red though.

I still like to see a W220 on the streets from time to time, but yes the W221 does make the Maybach look pointless. But the Maybach still is one hell of a car. I still hope they will try to redesign the car and not kill it. I hate that BMW and VW have an advantage in that market, if BENZ does decide to kill maybach. Another issue is that designed it off of the W220...so now that the W221 is out....what's next???

Also to this day I have never seen a Bugatti Veyron in person. Every other car I have seen..but Never a Bugatti. I feel so cheated.

It looks like right now the S600 will come with standard AMG wear. Interesting since they wouldn't build the S600 with the AMG kit before, at least not for the U.S. market.

Hmm, SplitView is not mentioned anywhere. That means we won't get it in the US since we don't get the TV tuner.

And it does look like there won't be COMAND controllers in the back either.

Hmm, I wonder if splitview is only for DTV though. It could also work with DVD and maybe video through PMPs.

COMAND conroller in the back are replaced by a remote-control (or two, one for each screen maybe? then it would make sense to have replaced the controller).

I hope there is a remote control. Remote Control > round controller.

Posted a picture of that one before:

:t-cheers:

The "OK" button in the middle isnt't blue - here it is just because they are describe for what this button is used to…

Nope, these in tyhe main unit of the S are much less shiny than Audi's, you hardly notice them. I don't really know what they are for, they're no DRL (as these are in the bumper).

I like the sport package, but I think S600 owners should have a choice on the actual package (at least for the outside trim).

Also in the S400 Hybrid...I wonder how much the cost would be to replace that lithium battery.

I would love to see the diamond white in person. And does anyone have a picture of the New multi-color ambient lighting (Blue-Ice)?

I agree! As a BMW fanatic, I will repeat myself. I have always had enormous respect for the MB S-class, sure a technological leader....but the LED A'la Audi looks really not classy! It's Audi copy rather than a Benz original......
